WOW! My shot is so much inferior!

My first try of macro.

How to achieve better bokeh? :D

In cases like insects and flowers, take as close up as u can and open your aperture to as wide as possible, which will give u a as shallow a DOF as possible.

Jus to share another of my orchid shot with my S5IS shot is taken in the super macro mode....the individual flowers are about 1cm across each:D Again no PP except for cropping...

cool. By the way, anyone know what's a good deal for this camera now?? I went to AP@ SLS yday. Was quoted 620 with 2G card and batt charger onli. I realise there's no canon bag kit or anything else.... Was hoping to wait for other IT fair at the end of the month but i will be outstation. Wonder if there's any better deal around?? I wanna get the wide lens too and was quoted 180. Er.. isn't there a cheaper option??

the reflection, the shining top.....wow...impressive to me...

I apologise if this question has already been asked but how do I shot macro or super macro. On my previous S3, I remember that after getting the flower/insect in focus, the moment I press the shutter, the picture goes out of focus. It was very frustrating.

Do I use manual focus? Do I put the lens very close to the subject for stand a bit far and zoom in?

p.s. if anyone getting the camera without the kit bag, i have an extra for sale.

Thanks bro for the compliment......but i think i still got a long way b4 i can become like alot of pros here......

Just keep shooting and learn from mistakes, It can really help u a lot.

When i got mine several mths ago b4 GST raise, was $710 with 2GB SD, kit bag and 4AA GP rechargeables with charger.

I also got the wide-conversion lens @ $180.

Press the flower button for macro and hold it down for super macro. Getting the subject to focus in either mode can be a chore so have to AF several times in some cases in order for the focusing box to become green instead of yellow.

Thanks. Anyway I went to AP to get it. BUT, being a newbie with camera, somehow, I have problem with it. Firstly, the FLASH when i push it up to use, it doesn't flash at all. I am setting it to AUTO mode so it should FLASH, right? Secondly, is this a battery drainer??? I put in normal Energizer Alkaline batts.. and less than a few shots it will say that BATT is FLAT!!!! :dunno:

Bro if u wanna get the flash to fire regardless of lighting conditions u should put the flash to manual mode instead of auto. Secondly regarding the batteries u should get at least a set of 2300mah MiHi batteries instead of normal alkaline batts(they don't last especially if the flash is being fired constantly) I m using a set of 2500mah MiHi batts with occasional firing of the flash they normally last me at least a good 300 to 400 shots B4 the batt low icon appears. Do pls go through the instruction manual of the camera....i spent 2 weeks on it and doing research on CS and googling for terms in the manual that i m not familiar with. That is the only way to learn bro......... :D:D:D Happy shooting.......
