ya hope so....waiting for him to confirm, but i still prefer the canon brand but no choice ....

Well ultimately the choice is yours cos when i bought my S5 when it just launched, the FZ-18 wasn't even in existent yet. But until now, i would still choose the S5 over FZ-18.

and i think the s5 is also more futureproof when more into photography.

btw do u have any comments on the products and quality or service of panasonic and canon?

Not only that, but the feel, grip and ergonomics of the cam too.

Panasonic i'm not sure cos i do not own any Panasonic cams but Canon is very gd! Efficient and friendly.

the a650is has a better sensor compared to s5is. you can just add a teleconverter lens and youll get a 10x optical

One thing I note from the dpreview picture for the A650 is "Made in China".

8M with 1/2.5 CCD and 12.1M with 1/1.7 CCD....It seem all hit their limit leh..

good point MIC i wonder whether got any powershot lower than S5 THAT IS MADE IN JAP.
anyway thanks for the link.
i was just reading a review bout the S5 and they always conplain about a loose cap that falls off easily as well as
that it is without a RAW system ( can someone explain what is that).
another thing is they say that downloading pics into the com from the S5 is inconvenient bacause it needs a special 'something.'
i'm quite lowsy with this kind of stuff so can some S5 users explain and give tips. i really wanna buy a cam that would be 'worth the money'
thanks and regards,

Untrue. By adding a tele-converter, u'll lose out on wide end.
