The girls are so pretty. I'm in love with the one on the left!

But, to be really really really honest, I don't feel this type of photo is a good example of what the K-3 can really do.

Perhaps taking one of the girls (or ideally all four of them- one to model, the others to hang around and make you feel like a playboy ^_^ ) and doing a photo shoot in an exotic location like a deserted beach in Thailand with crystal clear blue waters? :)

It seem like my gxr with fa* produce nicer tonality and sharpness for unknown reasons, k3 seem harsh and hard colours on the tone..that is my personal feeling.. but with some reservation as I had not hand on a k3 yet.

if Godox flash is used as fill in light would make the faces more flattering.. my guess.

Hi all, looking to upgrade from my Canon 600D and recently got poisoned by Pentax

Hoping to get some opinions regarding K3/K5ii

Main purpose for low-light action photography so main considerations are low light performance(moderate to high iso), focusing and image sharpness

And also for lens selection would the 60-250f4 be a better choice or the sigma 70-200f2.8

No matter what your reasons are for getting into Pentax, between these two, do yourself some justice and get the K3 if cost is not an issue.. Really....
Key words: do, yourself and justice.

Between the 2 lenses, of coz the Sigma 70-200/2.8..

Hi seany. Was wondering what do you define as low light "action" sports?

Ranchy had a Yong Nuo on the K3. Would the Godox make any difference? I used the K30 and Metz 58AF-1

haha..i hope it is not what i thinking... ;)

Eh, that one need f/1.2 for really selective focusing and its light gathering ability..

Paired with the K3, it would do justice to test the video capabilities too! Haha!

I think you need a 1DX.
I would rather turn you away now than have another person buy into Pentax without understanding its strength/weakness as a system and then become disappointed and becoming a 'hater'.

Haha! JK, let's not start the confusion.. Once you start the ball rolling, others will start chiming in with the various brands and models of recommendation. LoL!

But since you have started, to prevent further discussion of confusion, Seany, have you done your research and fully understood what you're getting yourself into by taking on the brand known as "Pentax"?

If so, you may proceed to recite your vows.. Haha!

nope not sports, stage performances

fullframes are pretty much out of the question, cost being a factor,
another being the extra "reach" of the crop sensor
friends using fullframes are either on the 100-400L or 300 primes

yea i was comparing 70d, a77 and d7100 before someone introduced the idea of a pentax
just trying to gather more info from you guys who have more hands on experience with the camera

so far what i gather from online reviews are the iso performance, focusing, fast burst with ample buffer depth which are all key factors for me

Between the 2 lenses, of coz the Sigma 70-200/2.8..

i asked cause for canon system wise there are people who choose the 70-200f4 over the sigma/tamron 70-200f2.8s
so was wondering if its similarly difficult to decide with the pentax system

Ah... Then have you tried that Canon 70-200/4?
If so, equivalently it'll be the Pentax da50-135/2.8 that will have the closest FOV and DOF..

But I'm not too sure of the focusing speed.. Heard that it is quite slow to focus, I guess owners of the lens can chime in on this. :P

But otherwise, I believe the siggy 70-200 would be faster in focusing although the FoV and DoF would be different, which I believe you would know.
