My K3 Experience

Hi there, just to report on a strange observation. I am faced with "Battery depleted" shutdown after 1 shot when in burst mode. Battery still has 2 of 3 bar... This is my charge on the battery.

Normal single-shot shooting is fine.

Burst mode when battery is full (yesterday) is fine....

I'll do a test w/ mine when the battery goes to 2 bars. Right now it's still on the first charge and it's still full (after over 300 shots and lots of review/menu settings).

Bro, it's been a very long time since you came in. Good to see you back :) Hope you still w/ us Pentaxians :D Do join us if you can.

Still remember one of the earliest Pentax outings we had, only three guys walked the whole trip around MacRitchie Reservoir.

Once a pentaxian .... always a pentaxian .... ......

regardless what 1 own now ..... hahahaha

Hard to make a decision.

Its good enough to invalidate 2 of my existing cameras.

LoL!! Best quote ever! But i've to agree... From what i can see of the images it can churn out (SOOC, i believe) it looks REALLY sweet! *poison*

Hi,

Mind sharing if this shot is shot with Macro lens? Or this picture is heavily crop?

hi ranchy,

I cropped it just around 5% of the original photo have good composition.
I used Tamron 90mm di Macro on it.

Recently I met an ex-Pentaxian, he was telling me he had gave up on Pentax some time ago, I think with Ricoh Imaging , these Exs should be able to be convinced to come back to Pentax DSLR.

Stranger! Now it is ok. At one bar. Confused.

I was testing out the AF of the K3 in low light. I do notice even when i set the AF light assist to on it will not be be turn on in almost pitch black condition. even with external flash attach the AF assist on the flash will not kick in. But the result is that the photo is focus sharp when flash is used. AF light assist is turn on only when using live view under low light, AF speed is much slower without Live View.
Just my observation

AF assist will only turn on when you are using the center point.

Please check with ur K3 if u are having issue.
Mine AF assist do appear when i tried to focus without taking my lens cap off.
even when i not using center point

Just learn something new, shared by Syncguy, the on-board flash can be set manually.. woot. Another cool feature added.........

One quick shot while waiting for Doyle to go Garden by the Bay to shoot flowers. However, never knew that it was so low lighted inside, so was not really shooting any flowers.

In the end busy playing with Start burst with the DA15.. Been awhile that i Last play with it..

Last 2 normal shots...

Coming from Kr to K3, I can feel that this is the ultimate DSLR ! :bsmilie:
K3 handles bright sunny days and dim evenings extremely well, Love it !
Even at the Ponggol Jetty the K3 AF locks quick on the jetty rails, even doing manually lights up the focus red square
Shots all JPEG direct from camera !
