Hi all,
I know my words here may not be so encouraging to many, but Melvin has done better than I had expected and most importantly, he now has experienced what other people who does nude photography experience.
Do take note, he was using FZ5 with tungsten lights and being first time shooting in a studio, first time shooting with tungsten, first time shooting nude... taking all that and more into considerations, he did well. Anyways, most importantly, he like what he took and that is the most important. Nude photogrpahy like any other arts is based on:
1. Who shot it
2. Who/what the subject is
3. Who views it
Like Student's works... Many does not see what he sees, but I'm one of his work's fan. Gary Tan's work are great and I like them. Guess everyone approaches the subject differently whether from the photographer's point of view or even the viewer's point of view. I approach nude differently too. Just like choosing one's spouse or partner, we see what others don't. And at times, others see what we don't.
Anyways, this is just my "personal" comment. This is only a start for you Melvin, hope to see more of your works to come. Keep them coming.
