Would like to share my first timelapse here. All done with canon5d3 and 17-40L 70 200L lens.

Not really that smooth and imapctive compare to a lot of awsome singapore based timelapse but anyways I did it :)

I made this to mark my 1st year of entering amateur photograhy and the 6th year of staying in singapore.

My guess is panning at the post, Adobe Premiere Pro can do that, LRtimelapse can do that too

Motion timelapse, aka Hyperlapse, shooting each frames on the move with feet.

0:26 - 0:28, how you do the panning ?
shot from Singapore Flyer

Yes Catchlights given all the right answers :)

very nice, enjoyable!

Isn't this is just like enlarging the video and then do the panning ?

If you don't enlarge the video, you will get part with black screen when you pan, isn't ?

Thanks

No one ask you to pan out of the frame mah. You don't pan out of the frame you won't have black screen loh.

And if you haven't already realized, it's not a video timelapse, it's a timelapse video made up of still images.

Of cos I know it is a time lapse made up from still images. I think maybe I did not explain my question clearly.

I was trying to find out whether there was any advance technique used in the panning, whether a slider was used in the taking the pictures.

Then the answer to me was it the panning was done using software (which I was hoping maybe there is some kind of a panaroma stiching or wat I dunno ...) So to be sure I ask whether it was done by first enlarging the picture size and then pan it ?

If you don't enlarge the original frame, how do you pan without getting black screen ?

In fact, I think you cannot pan at all in the first place if you first dont enlarge the picture size/frame unless you take on a slider or you move slowly after taking each shot ...

Thanks

the camera does not move or pan during capturing.
just think about cropping the images during the post, you crop a middle shot out of a wide shot.
and so when you move the cropping with in the whole frame, that is the pan liao.

btw, most cameras can capture images in 16MP or more, and the HD video only need 1920 x 1080, there is more than enough space to crop out from 16MP images

Hi hamanoshun, I use lrtimelapse+lightroom to achrive pan effect, just crop the 1st and the last photo and lrtimelapse will auto transfer the middle photos.I did not move the camera for the church part.
hope it made u clear.

Hi Catchlight, thanks for helping out explain all the misunderstandings! cheers !

NIce work Kent! Hope to see more from you.

nice work, hope you had fun with the timelapsing =)

with your choice of music, you might want to try more "cuts" to achieve a faster video tempo? so, rather than having all the current videos as single sequences, perhaps you can try getting 2 sets of sequences from each single timelapse video >> one is the original wide shot, and another is a close-up shot ... then you will have more sequences to use already

for those who are not familiar with LRtimelapse, or unclear how TS do the panning, zooming in post production, here is a brief explanation.

TS is using LRtimelapse to do the "Panning" and Zooming" effect, the whole sequence is shot stationary, and when load the set of sequence into Lightroom, he crop the #1 image in THIS way, and crop the #last image in ANOTHER way, save the METADATA.

Than start LTtimelapse, open up the sequence, the LTtimelapse will read the METADATA of the sequence, it will apply the transition changes in very small incremental steps to the rest of images between #1 image and #last image, save the METADATA.

Than open up Lightroom again, load the METADATA and apply it to the sequence, export a set jpg to compile into video with another programme (like Quicktimep Pro or Adobe Premiere) or export a video directly from Lightroom.

hope this help.

Thanks catchlight ...

I was confused because I thought LRtimelapse is LightRoomTimeLapse. I thought the software is LightRoom. I thought the LR was a short form you used for the software LightRoom.

So, where can I purchase this software LRtimelapse ?

Thanks
