Two seperate incidents in 3 days...
On 26th, I went to buy a Sandisk Ultra CF card. I entered the store and saw this usual plump guy standing there, so I approached him. I asked for a CF card and he quoted me $55 for a 4GB CF and $95 for a 8GB one. Didn't know the price of a CF card(as they were all given for free during camera purchases-well my bad for not doing homework), I accepted the 4GB one. I did not doubt the price then since MS has always been trust worthy.
Then I noticed that he took out a normal CF (non-sandisk). I stopped him requested for Sandisk Ultra. He then commented that it will be a different price and there isn't a 4GB available for Ultra and he gave me a 8GB one at $75. I bought it.
Everything seems ok. But on 28th(below incident), I went to AMK HUB outlet, and noticed that the price printed on an identical Sandisk Ultra 8GB card is $65! So much for trusting them. Quoting $10 more? Didn't know they played the AP/CP kind of tactics. Now then I know I kena chop big time for the CF cards prices including what he verbally quoted me. Well. Also no one told me about the Free SanDisk casing. It is only while surfing the net for actual CF prices moments ago, I came to know about it. Now I need to find out how/where to get/redeem. How funny.
Seperately, On 28th, I went with my friend to buy a Canon S90 at the main MScolor branch. Again it's the plump guy that served us... Upon confirming purchase, I was given a brand new set of Canon S90 to test, I noticed a dead pixel on the LCD and showed him. He then hesitantly gave me the 2nd set to test.
This time round, I noticed a stuck dust spec on the lens front that cannot be removed(he tried removing with a cloth for a good 1-2 mins). At the end, he gave up and told us "Please go to AMK HUB to buy instead". I asked him why, he stood for a moment. I knew he was unhappy with me from all his gestures and mumbling with his colleagues. I then commented "No more stock ah?" Then he replied "ya". But one glance up, I saw at least 7 boxes of S90... WTH is this? Am i suppose to take a dead-pixel camera or take one with a stuck dust on the lens? Already pissed, I walked off the shop. I tried to call john3:16 to know if they are still open (it's already 7+pm) but nobody picked up. As my friend needed the camera urgently, we then went to the AMK HUB outlet.
Now this uncle that served us at AMK HUB just dumped the whole box there and ask us to check it ourselves, sarcastically. Definitely the guy at the S11 outlet gave him a ring about us coming. Who on earth sells camera like that?
Well, my friend bought the camera happily, but me, definitely not dropping by MScolor ever again. So much for patronizing them over the years... My cameras were all from them, dating back to the Powershot A40 days to the 50D. Really pissed!
