example:fuji F40fd they are selling at $539 + 2gb card,still need to add 2% additional gst increase.
Sim lim sq is selling for around $479 for the same bundle, gst included.
Maybe since they shift to amk hub,need to mark up higher as the rental is very high there.
 

You have every right to test mate. Come back if got problem? They pay for your transport and time? No way!

I've visited some other shops in Hong Kong and Australia. Their service were top notch. Test until you 'song'. Even if you test and then don't buy, no problems mate, and this is what I call service quality.

Go to Florence and Mr. Loh. Feedback to them about service quality. I'm sure they will listen and see that some actions are done. It's their business anyway. Good experience spread, and so do bad ones. If they want to be in this line and do well, they got to do something. Service staff nowadays lack the patience. They just want to close the deal quick, get the commission fast and move else where, not knowing that if they want to sell, their service quality has to be there.

I'm not sure if you buy the lenses eventually, but if I were you, I'd just walk out of the shop!

not going to point fingers.. :P i went at a uncrowded point of time there were two staff free.

tested a lense with a male staff, did not meet my sharpness expectation.. no offer to take the other 3 pieces out for me to test shoot. i brought my lappy down for that reason though but..

decided to then pick up a flash the female staff nearby was like.. "can test" and was about to open the box and unwrap when the male staff came in and.. "aiyoh this one brand new.. new stock no problem one.. anything can come back" :sweatsm:

i swear i wasnt a difficult customer!! :angel: :sticktong i speak to them in a bit of english and often dialect as well.. testing of the lense was only five minutes max. i.e. shooting at a barcode of a box on the shelf etc..

prior to that my last visit a week ago i bought the 105mm where i brought my own cam. >.< so much for a returning customer ;p
 

To be honest guys, i have given up shopping at mscolour, although its the closest shop to me, i will now travel down to town to get my stuff. the attitude of the sales people with the exception of florence is terrible man, the big ...hang one enormous..no no no Giantnormous pimpled guy has attitude that stinks from ang mo kio to tiong bahru. vote with your money. if you don't live in the area ... please forget it. most places match the prices or are cheaper than them. not worth the trip down.

1. Good service from Florence...
2. Good service from a lady stuff @ 711
3. Offer 2 cup of drinks by florence and the lady stuff.. as florerence came in late
4. Given 2 X 50cts parking coupon from Florence as she was late 10 mins...
5. No pressure to buy anything...
6. Willing to share views on what equipments r better.Even stuff like SILICON GEL(was adivse to get HIPPO against silicon gel even though they dun sell it)

I think its a good experience compared to other shops in SLS but of coz i think it all boils down to the "mood" of the sales staff for the whole day. Some days... as a sales staff u might juz lose ur cool due to some bad customers... But anyway i also think as a customer sometimes it plays a part to be given good service. Some people juz DEMAND good service when they goes down to a shop... I believe its a 2 way thing... Just my 2 cents worth... Not pointing fingers... And sorry if i might have offended any bros with this comments for both MS and the attitude for service staff...

Well its 1740 w/o GST... Freebie lowerpro bag(Trail 1 Waist poach if u ask HUB staff / Got a Ex-180 from florence though.. Prefer a sling bag still...) + 2GB SD card (Upgrade to 4GB Sandisk Ultra 2... for extra of 70) Maybe u guys can bargain more... I m lousy @ bargaining... :(

at amk hub like super fixed.. maybe i dress like i dun have spending power lol so not taken seriously :P
 

That is why I only go to Blk711 ... and deal only with Mr or Mrs Loh (Florence)

4GB Sandisk Ultra 2 at SLS around $70plus;)

Never wore a shirt and pants there in my life. Never failed to get a good price (except on 1 occasion, where Lords was slightly cheaper). Never failed to be served drinks (maybe I look like I am perpetually thirsty :bsmilie:). No problems with reservations and orders to date.
 

We each go to shops we fancy. MS Colour may be great for some but not for others. Some of us become good friends with them and find shopping there a pleasure, some of us do not like their service. I feel that these are individual preferences. Some of us go round shopping for the best price, but there are some who would rather go to a shop they are comfortable with even if they have to pay a little more. I for one have been buying my equipment from MS Colour for many years and have got to know them well. They may not always be the cheapest for everything, but I know I would not get cheated at MS Colour and they are there to assist me if I have any problem with the product after the purchase. This gives me a peace of mind and saves me time on the pre purchase research. This is why I shop at MS Colour.

Fully agree ! I think the price I got from MS color is reasonable, well maybe I keep going back to them for my nikon 17-55 f2.8, 12-24 f4, 70-200 f2.8, D200, D70, SB800/600, ... the list goes on. :D They definetely give better price if you know the staff well.

Fully agree with you here. I just got back from M S Color as I went to exchange the free case I got last Friday for my S6500FD. One of the staff gave me a much smaller bag instead of the original pouch as it was out of stock (Other staff forgot to give me the softcase when I bought in June). When Florence saw that, she immediately asked another of the staff to get me a bigger bag to fit it and even apologised for the inconvenience caused. I told her not to worry as a regular, I understand and it gives me an excuse to visit again.
 

i was recommended to ms color here too . bought my sony alpha & accessories there . they went to 711 twice to bring my items over . staff named W'xxxxx" provide good friendly service . though they are shortage of staff service unlike those big shops with 1 to 1 service , that is why MSC can give good reasonable cheap price for us . before i used to go penisula & funan , but after this trip i think i will be going back to MSC .
 

Actually every shop you go you have the possibility to encounter problems. I dun believe other camera shops like Cathay or John 3:16 you get everything you need there. Sometimes it's a compromise. You might have to wait longer to be served, prices a bit higher, or staff product knowledge is no good etc.

MS Color is ok with me. Dun have to be served by Florence or Mr Loh. It's difficult to always catch them in the shops. I was duped into buying a printer by one of their staff cos I was told outside they are selling it more expensive. Later I realize darn, it's the same price! Well I can choose to be angry, be decide to let it go. But not fair to single this out to say they are lousy.
 

at least u din pay for a higher price. maybe it's their sales tactic, tho not so ethical, still it's sales. at least they did not chop u like carrot. :)
