i m curious, how often do you guys shoot... say 3fps or more.

i cant remember if i ever did that.

If i had more than 3 fps Id use it for my action portraits ;p For most cases 3 fps is quite enough I agree. I think that its unlikey they would give it 6.5 FPS as it will kill off the 1dsmk3 somewhat...

body only = S$2499
24-105 kit = S$3899

:bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

If this price is for 5D II, I'll be the first one to Q.
But then.. this price could be 2 years after the launch... :bsmilie::bsmilie:

I wonder once the 5D Mark II is launched, will there still be stock for the Norm 5D?
Haha, if no more stock the price drop also no use..

Anyway must stock up on vitamin M!! hehe o_O

Whichever the launch date, Canon better do something fast to capture back the DSLR market since Nikon has caught up so much in terms of features and build like the superb D300 & D3. What do you guys think?

The 450D/XTi is selling like hot cakes at the moment. So, Canon owns the market right now.

However, in a few months time, Nikon is likely to announce the D80 upgrade. If Canon is smart, they'll drop the 50D around the same time. And they should also announce something like an EF-S 18-200 IS.

The Canon 5D Mark II is planned to compete against the D300/D3 duo. Features and price will slot right between those 2 competitors.

How real is this leak? I remember when there were leaks before actual announcements in the past, the pixel-peepers would get all excited and step in to point out all the problems with the leaked pictures. Then, they had to eat crow after that. On the other hand, there was also some obvious fake info. So, we'll just have to wait and see this time. :bsmilie:

yeah 2 dates to await. 22 april and june

Isn't 22 April 2008 earth day ?
If 5D MK II is launched on that day, hope it is enviroment friendly.......:)
Also friendly to our pockets:)

Yeah ... the launch will make it evironmentally friendly for all ... less paper notes in our wallets mah ... :bsmilie:

Really hope that they'll release it @ a good price point ... Canon really need to win back some goodwill points ...

hope the release and launch date is not a scam.

As I recall back in Dec 07/Jan 08, the Canon 7D was all over every major Canon Forum. We waited... and waited... So, now it is 5D MarkII !! Hope that this time will be real ?? ( Maybe, Canon will surprise everyone and actually come out with 6D!! ;))

You all invested heavily into Canon stocks is it ? So passionate about the strategy of the company, capturing back market share, this VS that.. bla bla.... :bsmilie:

I use it all the time when I'm out birding - even up to 10 fps with my 1D Mk. III and I know others who do it too! It appears that you don't do sports, birding or any other activities that would need a high fps rate. Why don't you try these other aspects of photography - you might get to like it!

shooting my kid coming down a slide made me wish i had a higher fps than what the 40D could give me...

It depends mainly on what subject you are shooting. E.g portrait or studio shooters do not have a need for anything > 3fps. High fps can come in useful when capturing bursts of action which take place in a short period of time. The high fps option could be incorporated like in the current 40D, where there is option for normal continuous drive mode (3fps) and high speed continous drive mode (6.5fps).

wheres our 5d mk2??!?!!? :D
