wah liew... awe-inspiring

The mantis shrimp has the world's most complex eyes..able to detect 16 channels of light, including UV and polarized. Humans detect only 4 channels.

Imagine their vibrancy of colours..

Gleaned frm Nat. Geograpic.. :)

oh a couple offered 500usd for that picture of mine... but i had to give up the copyright of the photo to them. so i politely declined.. (stupidly) else i'd be 500usd richer...

darn.. that was a long time ago... and it still aches.!!!!!

Just wondering what does it mean to sell the copyright to them? Does it mean that they do not need to name you as the photographer?

hmmm then u oso can't proudly claim that took the pic..an easy way out i guess... to join competitions...abit 'cheapo' imo..ahhaa

I am quite sure that #2 is not periclemenes venustus, as I had a periclemenes venustus before, it is transparent with small blue and white speckles and no orange. :D Though I don't know what is it.

#3 looks like a periclemenes holthuisi to me (also had it in the past). :)

Here is a pic of the Harlequin shrimp that I got. Would try to get other pics up asap.
