Moon shots gone wrong

wow its sharp..may i know which lens are u using?
i tried with the 70-200,cannot get it this sharp

it's not only about lens. you can have the sharpest lens... but without proper handheld techniques (if you're doing it handheld) you won't get a sharp shot. and be it on tripod or handheld, MF is still the best to get the moon shot really sharp. like what Rashkae mentioned, use Live View and magnify the image on-screen.

I used MF, tripod, wireless shutter release..but not the live view..

live view is optional. if u can get good focus thru the view finder, that is fine. :)

This was shot on 19 March

Hehe... That's a popular day for moonshots. Here's my copy... a bit oversharpened, I feel.

Anyone here using Nikon Fieldscope + Adaptor, or similar optics (Leica/Swarovski, etc?)? According to sources, Nikon Fieldscope 85 + LSA-L2 + Fx cam = a whopping 1750mm!!!
