erm, are we allowed to submit by print only?

printing 8Rs sound very expensive :S

Yes.......Expensive? Digital prints for 8" x 10" or 8" x 12" is only $2-3 nowadays compared to $5-6 two to three years ago.......and we will be enlarging 100 prints to A3 size to exhibit at Suntec Singapore Level 2.........at no cost from participants

The request for hardcopy prints is for better judging as whatever's on the print is what you want to send us and would not have colour calibration errors if judging were to be done on a projector.

Finally, the prints will be returned after judging so you can have it back........so no loss too.........

Hope you understand................. :)

8R print at $8??? Did you request for crop***g or something like that? Otherwise normal printing from film or digital is up to $3 only.

Hi enghong17,
are b/w pictures acceptable or do they need to be in color only?

Hi jkl,

you may purchase tickets by mailing us a money order or cheque to:

The Photographic Society of the NUS
Kent Ridge Post Office
PO Box 1121
Singapore 911105

or alternatively you may wish to purchase the tickets at NUSPS Digital Media Centre at NUSSU Service Centre, Yusoff Ishak House starting next week.

The availability of tickets on the actual day depends on whether we have sold out our tickets or not, but going by the number of tickets sold already, i think you should buy first before they run out.

See you then.

EngHong ;)

is it possible to know how I fare in the competition after everything? Would like to know how many points or any critics given for improving purpose.

Hi jialuvqr,

you may attend the open judging on 28th May at SAFRA Mt. Faber Club. Points keyed in by the judges are displayed on a panal for all to see. We will record the points awarded for administrative purposes but we may/may not tell participants the points awarded.

Judging is a tedious process with over a thousand or more pictures being judged and judges tend not to make any comments during the initial round. Even at the final stage, each judge is given an individual slip of paper to record the score given to each entry in the "Finals". This is to prevent one judge from influencing the other, making the judging process a fair procedure.

We welcome all participants to attend the judging as a good chance to learn what type of pictures captures judges eyes and what makes winning pictures.

Hope to see you then ;)
