Hello,

I am currently providing an affordable monitor calibration service for those who are colour conscious about their monitors/require accurate colour.

I'll be using a Spyder3 + Spyder3 Elite software.

Although a one time calibration is not as good as one that is constantly calibrated (usually every two weeks to check color integrity), it still does wonders especially if you're working with dual monitors that don't display colours accurately and is also a more affordable option compared to buying a calibrator.

I am on a Mac so I'm more familiar with running the software on Macs but Windows shouldn't be that much of a problem. Please note that glossy displays MIGHT pose a problem due to the reflection/gloss on the monitor.

Requirements:
* Windows XP 32/64, Vista 32/64
* Mac OS X (10.3 or higher)
* USB
* Color monitor resolution 1024x768 or greater
* 16-bit video card (24-bit recommended)
* 128MB of available RAM
* 100MB of available hard disk space

Prices are as follows:

$35 for desktop monitors
$30 for notebook monitors

OR if you have two screens (regardless of whether 2x desktop or 2x notebook or a combination), I can calibrate both for $50.

Prices include me traveling to your house, and doing a 01x install/calibration of your monitor.

You can tell me your targeted white point/gamma, otherwise I'll be calibrating to 6500K @ 2.2 Gamma.

For more than two monitors please drop me a PM.

Thanks for all the responses! For DUAL monitor setups on Windows computers, I cannot guarantee that Windows will load the profiles for both displays properly unless you have separate graphics cards driving each display.

Kindly refer to this article for more information:

For Apple users, this shouldn't be a problem as OS X handles ICC profiles for each monitor properly.

One satisfied customer! :)

hi, just to check about your Spyder EULA - are you allowed to install the calibration software in more than 1 PC/mac? i've been notified that this is not legally allowed under the EULA.

4. License Grant.

With respect to any monitor calibration software, Datacolor grants to you, and you accept, a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the Software in object code format on one or more computers at a single physical location, and on five additional laptop, notebook or other portable computers.

With respect to any other Datacolor software, Datacolor grants to you, and you accept, a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to install and use the Software in object code format on a single computer at a time. If you wish to use the Software on a network, please contact Datacolor.

In addition to installed copies, you may make one copy of the Software in machine-readable form only for backup purposes. The backup copy must include all copyright information contained on the original.

Datacolor grants to you, and you accept, a personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to distribute profiles in .ICM or .ICC format ("Profiles"), including to customers of your consulting or design services, so long as you do not otherwise sell, lease, or rent Profiles, nor bundle Profiles with any hardware, software or other commercial product.

This License is effective until terminated as provided herein. You may terminate this License by destroying the Software and all copies of the Software in your possession. This License will terminate automatically upon any violation of the terms of this License. You acknowledge that this License does not entitle you to any support, maintenance or upgrade from Datacolor.

The calibration software is immediately uninstalled after calibration is not left on the computer, I'm using a notebook so I don't think it violates the EULA. I'm charging people for the travel cost, time spent on calibrating and explaining to them colour profiling, not charging them for the profiles itself. :)

Interesting and useful point brought up by nightwolf75.

n0d3's response seems equally valid, and i agree. he is providing a service, and the software is the means to help him in his work.

fwiw, if i were the regional distributor i would support him, coz he is giving me free advertising (perhaps that was the intent in para 4 of EULA point 4?). i am sure in time to come his customers may turn out to become my customers. if not, at elast they will learn something abt spyder.

cheers

Thanks for the response! PM me now to secure a timeslot!

Thanks everyone for all your support! Hope you enjoy your calibrated screens!

Hurry now! I'll only be doing this until 3rd July!

Bump for a Sunday night!
