Moderators should have a little EQ...

I believe that when a thread is created in the wrong sub-forum, the moderator, instead of just closing it, should help the member move the thread to the appropriate place or inform the member of the proper place to post such threads.

This would give a more "friendly" image to mods rather than simple sending out warnings to members who have innocently posted in the incorrect threads.

doesn't deleting/closing a thread require similar numbers of mouse-clicks than moving a thread or is it really such a hassle to just help out?

Otherwise, it would appear that the moderator is just abusing his position to close threads as and when and also, the member would not learn anything.

Just my thoughts.

now that it is done, ask yourself, did you learn anything?

if the thread was moved the member will just take it for granted that the mod will move it for them and that they do not have to care if it is in the wrong place as the all too free mod has nothing else better to do but to search for threads to move.

btw this belongs in the FAQ and feedback forum
shall i move it or close it?????

if a thread actually belongs to another section, we would certainly move it.
but if it does not belong anywhere, or we see it as irrelevant, it'll be removed.

and this thread can be an example too. it's posted in the wrong place (kopitiam) and i will now move it to the appropriate section.
