Modeling opportunity

I'm a Melbourne-based Singaporean working in the photographic industry. In highly diversed Australia, I have photographed models from Sweden, Germany, Canada, UK, Oman, Japan, Malaysia, and Indonesia. I'm not the best, or nearly the best, photographer in Melbourne, but statistically, I'm 1 of very few Asians in Melbourne who open-mindedly and frequently works with Caucasian models to produce a wide variety of liberal/alternative themed images. I acknowledge that the style/flavour of my portrait photography is different from what most good photographers and good models in ClubSnap are accustomed to, and not everyone may appreciate my work.

In early Feb, I will be in Singapore for a very short 10-day vacation during which I hope to do a few (maybe 2-3) photo shoots with carefully selected models. I'm looking for Singaporean models who are:

1) committed to their modeling endeavours (persons who have a goal and want to get there),

2) enthusiastic about creating better images (natural and uninhibited in front of the camera),

3) open minded towards alternative themes/styles/genres (not stuck to fashion, casual and clubbing wear shots so often done),

4) professional (treat modeling like a job, arrive punctually, and keep their modeling and personal life separate)

Although I photograph swimwear, lingerie, and nudes liberally, I don't and won't expect most Singaporean models to be as liberal as westerners. Still, I'm looking for the ones who are a bit open-minded, and hope to shoot some swimwear (on an offshore island) and lingerie (in a studio) images when in Singapore. I'm also open to models proposing their ideas for our discussion. I'm most keen to work with models, experienced or not, who want to build or expand their porfolio to include images of themes/styles/genres not commonly done in Singapore.

If a confirmed model is found for swimwear, I will sponsor her bikinis from Australian labels such as Roxy, Billabong, Rip Curl, Bum Floss, Valley Girl, etc. (I will instruct on how to measure for Australian size.)

If a confirmed model is found for lingerie, I will sponsor lingerie from Australia. (I will instruct on how to measure for Australian size.)

In any of my photo shoots, a chaperone is allowed but I won't pay for any cost incurred by the chaperone.

Since I won't have time to organise anything in Singapore, I will organise with you via phone from Australia. Provide me with a contact number which I can reach you on. These photo shoots are primarily TFCD with compensation by apparel merchandise. If the model wishes to charge a fee, please include your expected fees in the e-mail for my consideration.

I'm also open to a collaboration with selective photographers who are able to make a significant contribution to the photo shoot through creative styling, provision of costumes and props, access to facilities. Just to add, I don't fully subscribe to the Asian perception/preference of smaller/thinner size 6-8 girls being most suitable for swimwear and lingerie images.

In Australia where the average Caucasian woman is size 12-14, I have observed, accepted, and worked with bigger women (so far not exceeding size 10) for such roles. I believe that, for swimwear and lingerie images, the bigger female body is just as, or more, attractive than a smaller one. Needless to say, the curvier or bustier she is, generally (but not always) the better she is for such roles. (I'm sure you can see it on the cover of magazines.)

Having said this, I'm not obsessed at finding the thinnest waistline of 23 inches. For the blessedly taller woman (above 1.7m), she can still look presentable with a waist of 27 inches.

I would like to encourage taller/bigger Singaporean models who have always felt insecure about themselves for not being the "perfect 8" to come forward to this opportunity. If you are unsure how much you measure by Australian size, I can instruct you on taking measurements to determine the size.

Understand that I'm organising this with you from over 6000km away. I can't see you hence I must hear you on the phone to know that you're genuinely interested. It determines whether I arrive with a very full and heavy luggage or an empty one.

If I do find someone in Singapore to collaborate with me, this collaborater will help me plan from over there, and meet you to discuss and develop our plans.
