Most of you have collected your items :)

Only 8 left in the list.

The next collection date will tentatively be on next Tuesday 22nd March 2005 @ Peninsular/City Hall MRT Area. Venue is to be determined.

Time will be from 1900-1930.

I can make alternative arrangement for those who work/stay in the north area. I will be on the North MRT line from 1845 to 1930. If you wish to collect your items earlier, please pm me to arrange. Preferably on Thursday 17th March 2005.

I'm interested in the reversing ring, but don't know what size to order. i've a eos 50mm 1.8 MkII and a coolpix 5400. Do i need 1 or 2 rings each far a camera?
Thanks

check the thread size of your coolpix, probably u'll need 52mm reverse + step up/down ring

Check the thread size of the adaptor you're using for the Coolpix 5400. If its 52mm, then you just need a 52mm to 52mm one, if its a 58mm, then you need a 58mm to 52mm one and so on.

jus check my eos 5mm 1.8 thread size is 52 mm. so wat size should i get for the macro ring? Another question: do I need to have two lens to work?

no need. you can try it out with your current kit lens handheld or check out my gallery in which i did post some shots for it.

NMSS, hes using a PnS lah. Ya I know the 50mm f1.8 is 52mm. You just need to know the size of your lens adaptor you use for your camera. You know that lens adaptor that allows you to attach filters etc.?

Oops! my bad! :embrass:

maybe help me further if i list the lens i have, then juz list down what i have to get:
- 70-200L & 50mm1.8 =
- CP 5400 =
So, in order to do the macro setup, i must have to lens joint together?
blur leow?
thanks for the help

You didn't get what I said huh?

Basically there are two ways to go about doing reverse macro, one is you reverse mount the lens using a adaptor directly to a body. The other one is you use the male to male thread and mount it in front of a zoom lens.

For your Nikon Coolpix, I suppose you have the adaptor that allows you to attach filters? You need to find out what thread size that adaptor uses, you then need to get a XXmm (where XX is your thread size for your adaptor) to 52mm (thats the thread size of the 50mm f1.8) male to male thread adaptor.
http://megaweb.clubsnap.org/articles/a70_reversed_35mmf2/

Same thing for your 70-200L & 50mm f1.8 combination. You need to find out the thread size for your 70-200L, if IIRC, its 67mm? So you need a XXmm to 52mm adaptor.

Get it?
