erm... john. a bounce card (any brand actually) works by reflecting light indirectly from the flash to subject - hence lessens the harsh shadows.

u can see an example of a helluva more expensive bounce card from lumiquest. http://www.lumiquest.com/lq871.htm its heck lot more expensive, available at CP.

if u wanna see live examples, go to events sub-thread, and look for KNIGHT ONG's post on the Red Cross anniversary dinner abt 4wks back. he was using it dat nite. we were shooting together. i was using the lumiquest softbox.
