MO: Full Metal Umbrella Holder which can mount on tripod

Chunger/Tunster, can I ask if the plastic holder is strong enough to support a Bowens 500W flash with softbox attached? I'm thinking of using it as a means to tilt the flash easily without using the flash's tilt mechanism (which is currently wearing out).

i think the thread on the screws will break first, or the quick release, whichever applies...

Hmm, I don't see a quick release, unless what you're referring to is the swivel mechanism?

i meant your tripod, if you use a quick release plate with a head.

cos the thread is the only thing holding on to the entire setup.

I thought I saw two lighting studs on each end - one stud goes into the lightstand, the other stud goes into the studio flash. Hence its not going to be used with a quick release plate or a tripod.

According to the Bowens website, the 500W should be about 3.4 kg.

To clarify the doubts.
The $30 dollars plastic holder is a 2 in 1, the top can mount on studio strobes and flash stands/quick release plate. The bottom can mount on light stands and normal tripods.

For de 20 dollar metal holder, it is only normal tripod holes and mount on both sides.

And for de 3kg light it should have no prob
