MO from Amazon - Books Only - Who is Interested?

Disclaimer - just to get a feel of how many people are interested in getting books from Amazon to save on shipping costs, and to take advantage of the currently low US$ exch rates.

I know that Borders, Kinokuniya etc. have books on photography, but Amazon eclipses them all, so want to know who is 100% interested and commited to participate in MO for books from Amazon.

IF there is enough interest and the MO is confirmed, will require 50% payment upfront before ordering, and the balance to be paid on delivery (may have to be recalculated if the shipping charges vary).

DVD is a no no ! if your item was confiscated at the custom, you still have to pay.


this apply to saving private ryan , alient 1,2,3, black hawk down and etc...any dvd that cannot be purchased in singapore , you are not allow to bring them in from other countries.

Darn...then again, I should have read the title more carefully, just say the "Books Only" part. Oh well.

Hmm...maybe we could all just order different book, and when we meet up to collect the books, we can all just share them among ourselves by glancing through and taking note of the more interesting bits of the books, that way we got more variety?

If you are getting them from Amazon, you might want to check out if there are any coupons...

And one more thing, try not to use Mastercard to do your online purchases.. DBS ones...

Recently, when the exchange rate was low, I got charged 1.80!!

Yup, dvd's out for amazon... especially with the attention-grabbing words on the package label - "Contents - Digital Video Discs"...

But, on the other hand, the risk is minimal, but it's still there..
Bought from Amazon once, came without a hitch.
But anyway, better not buy just to play safe..

PS: That Kodak 35MM book is available from the library (CCK branch), think I saw it there too.

Good or bad? I heard is equipment oriented (Canon), but I am a Nikon diehard...

Don't think it's an issue with the book being equipment oriented, the technique should still be the same. There's no fundamental differences in different systems anyway, as long as they deliver the pictures you want.

Not really sure about the content of this book. I like the cover photo, if the photos inside the books are as good as the cover (and many), then I will buy. Not cheap you know...so must think properly...

Anyone with one? Care to share your +- of the book?

Arthur Morris is a great bird photographer. I have read his older booklet on bird shooting. And i like the chapter of exposure part. This one must be an updated one and better. You should get it if you are serious in bird photography. Myself has bought a John Shaw's Nature Photography, personally found it very good. Keeping a few books at hand is very handy IMO. Besides that, I have been seaching in the National Library and reading extensively. All of these efforts make my knowledge improve day by day. Anyway, practice is also important.

Btw, I saw the above-mentioned book a few days at the new Times bookshop at Centrepoint. Pretty good read.
