Since there is enough interest to get this going, I volunteer my time and hard-earned $$ to start off this MO for books from Amazon.
Guidelines:-
1. Books only - not limited to photography- gardening, sewing etc. also can ... ;p
2. No R(A), risque, definitely no XXX books - if I think it will not pass thru Customs, I will not order it
3. Max limit for total order will be US$1K - when this limit is reached, I will decline further orders (and do another MO later). This is to minimise financial risk on my side.
4. Payment is 50% upfront based on the cost of the book using daily exchange rate. Balance of 50% will be re-calculated once the shipment is in and shipment costs are distributed. Note that the std shipping fee per book is US$4.99. See example at bottom of post for shipping rate example. Where you will save is the shipping charge PER SHIPMENT which is US$6.99.
5. Upfront payment to be collected on 31 July 2002 (Venue/Time to be announced) and order will be placed latest Friday, 2 August.
6. Shipping will be via Std Intl Shipping - 13-21 Business Day (other shipping methods available but will be more expensive)
Format for submission of orders:-
Book1 - $10
Book2 - $15
Book3 - $25
Total Book cost = $50
Shipment packaging and handling cost = $6.99
Per Book cost ($4.99 x 3) = $14.97
Total cost of order ($50+$6.99+$14.97) = $71.96
Cost per book becomes:-
Book1 - $10+$4.99+$2.33 = $17.32
Book2 - $15+$4.99+$2.33 = $22.32
Book3 - $25+$4.99+$2.33 = $32.32
