Hi all,

I just got a second hand minolta maxxum 70-210/4.5-5.6. Now, there's this little button on the left of the lens, and i cant figure out what it does? Does anyone have a similar lens and know the function of this button?

Also, how much would this lens cost locally?

Thanx!!

Hi,

Depending on your camera option, its can be customized to suits your needs. You may change the option via the custom function option.

For Dynax 7, it can be use for the following.

1) Focus Hold
2) Continuous Bracketing
3) DOF Preview

Ahh, tat button is focus lock button.......

Thanx,

I'm using a 404si, so how do i activate the exposure lock? What happens now is that anytime i press that button together with any button on the camera body, the Manual Focus icon appears on the LCD, but nothing happens.

Just gone thru 404 manual. From my understanding, the exposure lock comes hand-in-hand with spot metering. See the SPOT button at the back of the body? I usually use it when I do spot mettering (505), never think of exposure lock alone.. sorry :).

Any 404 user can help?

haha, actually, i meant focus lock, as per the vader's reply. But you've just answered another one of my questions!! Thanks a lot for the link to the manual :)

The function of that small button is by default focus lock. But with the Dynax 7 (&maybe 9), thru' the custom functions menu, u can change it to act as a different switch as mentioned by deslim. U can check if the 404si supports such a custom function.
