btw anybody got a sigma 50-500 with 2x TC, wanna test out 1500mm... heheh...

(how much will a 50-500 with a 2x tc cost? cos i thought for a while... since will need to buy a few lens to reach 500, y not get 1 that reach 500???)

50-500 should be ard 1600+ now. kenko 2X TC is about 200? can't remember. although its cheap but i would not trust the build since its plastic. such heavy lenses might crack it someday and lose the grip on your precious 50-500, and drop on the floor. :bigeyes:

i'm those shallow brand conscious person... so if buy sigma 50-500, think i would get a sigma 2x tc as well...

btw wats the diff between the minolta 2x tc & the sigma 1?

minolta one will only work with some lenses, most are the G ones.

They can only be used with their own lenses due to different lenses designs. You need to check compatibility before you purchase them.

50-500mm when used with any teleconverters will be restricted to manual focus and restricted range of 100-500mm

Easy to approach 1000mm Ultra Telephoto World with Sigma 2x EX Apo TC

This 50-500mm f4-6.3 EX lens can be used with Sigma's 2x EX Apo Tele-Converter as a 200-1000mm zoom lens, for manual focus. Converted f-stop display will be provided by 10 pin electronic interfaces to the camera. This Tele-Converter is fully compatible with all exposure mode as well as Program, no exposure compensation is required with the Sigma EX Apo Tele-Converters.


for a moment i thought its stucked with 500mm, so the 50-500 with a teleconvertor is useless... but after thinking awhile... you can't use the 50-100mm side, might be due to vignetting...
