Minolta electronic cable release

Can anyone explain to me why on earth the one with a longer cable cost a good $20 more than the one with shorter cable?

Got the quote from MS color, was quite shock by the difference...

Went everywhere to look for the shorter version, but seem no stock everywhere.

In the camera business...... all accessories aren't cheap. As for the wire length......the possible reasons that i can think off is that the type of wire internally is expensive as it needs to be made tough, VERY flexible (like the sony earphone wires) , fine strand type (for flexibility) -like those used in multimeter probes.

Well...i personally use a short one abut i think for pro use, you may need them in some special setups.

Just my opinion.....

i can see u are trying to buy a remote electronic cable release for u dynax 5... can i know the cheapest price where u can get it? cos i'm thinking of gettin one for my dynax 5 too.. thank u!

Hi wcy,

The prices for cable release don't differ much, slightly under $50.
fyi, already went to Fotoguide, CP last weekend...no stock for the short cable release, next arrival mid of the Aug.

Called MS, they did mention they have the longer ones (but oh boy, the price diff for the extra copper) and they will want to wait for qty (goodness know how many) before they bring in the next batch of the short cable.

btw you know there's this remote control for Dynax 5 too.
(but something wrong with mine, so i'm thinking of the cable release.)

ya i know, but it onli works for the quartz version of the dynax 5... mine is non quartz
