try google for shashinki. they are related to photomalaysia forum. not the cheapest ard but do have a wide variety of lenses including hard to find nikons. if u think looking for the 200 is bad, try looking for the only true macro zoom lens - the 70-180mm....

Thks bro, checked with them before, same reply as SG :(

Yup i heard abt the 70-180 macro.. Think tat one is as rare and hard to get as the AFD 28 1.4

Tin cheung camera HK got stock. HK$9975.

:nono: tried that last week.. They never never never update their webpage!

I thot so happily when i saw their website~ until when i call them.... :(

If you seriously want to, can order through Nikon Singapore, may needs to wait for 2 to 3 months.

If you add on the TC 20E III on the 105mm f2.8, Focusing is slow and image quality is not good. But if you use the TC 17EII, it is faster and better. But no matter how, Micro 200mm f4 is seriously the best. (Only the AF is slow) .

think first if you really need it.

i almost bought one for $2200 SGD last year. but thought that i do not need it at all and 200mm may be too hard to handle for macro. nice lens though...will not depreciate

Trust me when i said i'm dead serious.. :bsmilie:

Sorry, sounds like lens lust to me
I totally respect Leong as a macro photog (and also as a champion TCSS in Expose heh) because he can make (m)any lens work
Short or long, reverse too, ahem.
I contemplate why I spend so many hours in the bushes chasing insects when I see his work ;p

I think you know the answer yourself; you give the same advice to others who ask purchase questions!
Buy if you have the need, have the money or even both. Not seeing the item is a non-issue if you need it. Plus, it's Adorama.
Asking here is just simply asking us to feed your NAS...

i suggest you buy used,so you do not have to shoulder the depreciation, people who buy this lens usually have the right equipment to maintain and keep this lens fungus free. selling this lens for the same price or for profit is easy

when you say you are thinking bout something, you are already dead serious bout it. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

when you say you are dead serious about it... i dun even wanna think about what you will do to get that lens... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

Bro or maybe u can try the 200 F4 micro AIS.... value for money...:D

Out of SG.. Cannot physical inspect..

Unless u are on the Moon now, they deliver to wherever u are. Or u can deliver to someone who knows how to inspect the lens whom u trust in custody of the lens when u are out of Sg. Else buy it when u are back to Sg. BBBB :devil:

Got my lens from HK many year back at about S$1600.

Support of this idea, because for very close shot, most of the times use the manual focusing.
(Also this lens Auto Focusing is very slow).

Do note that 200mmf/4 micro AIS can only achieve 1:2 magnification.

Those really interested in getting the AFD200mmf/4 can pm me, i might able to get, as i flying to japan or get it thru my local contact.

U might have misinterpreted man~ This is a question of need not desire..
I am just as passionate on macro photography the way Leong dedicate himself to it..
I intend to keep the 105VR as a backup if i managed to get the 200, as bugs mostly i chase are nervous critters.. Some additional working distance definitely to me are most welcome~

Think i justify my reason fair enough..if you still think otherwise, i couldnt help it then..

You made a valid point~
I am seriously considering that. Tks for the input man~ :)
