Manita... I like your ICM shot... niceeee.

62 actually not very hard to improve... all you need is more contrast...

BTW did you get your UWA yet? If shoot 62 with UWA, will be very nice.

Hello Uncle Albert,
Thanks for visiting and thanks for C&C. For #62, noted.
My Dad have not bought the UWA yet. He say will buy soon.
For now, Im practising this ICM process and is really tough. But I enjoy it.
Thanks again.:)

The idea is novety manita.. But illogical for the ramp to be in motion .. Nice effort n subtle tones though :)

Good night.

This is a compelling shot but I will move two steps to the right of the frame and try putting the tip of the sky facing branch bit more on the further left.. N showing the shape of the fallen tree better n revealing more structured details

Nice work! :)

Hello Bro. NNB, Oh..Ok. will take note of that.
But I still dont understand. Some photos on ICM are all in motion including land, sky and water.
Will read more on this then.
Thanks for the C&C. :)

Hello Bro. NNB, what about #63? I have moved a little more to the right to get a better view of the whole tree. But will go back there again because it start to rain after about 6 to 7 shots.

i prefer this over the b/w ver.. but think the framing alittle too tight :) thought a UWA shot with a 4X6 crop looks gd

Wow the tide was so low, i remembered i was about thigh height submerged when i was there last Fri

Hello Uncle ZCA, Thanks for the C&C.
Wow... #62 It is really tough for me to shoot at this tree even is low tide. There are alot of big rocks there and is very slippery. My Dad also have a tough time helping me to move around where I want the shots to be. If I take 2 steps to the left, then is the big rocks. Then it start to rain and so scary because of the thunder. So i have only taken about 6 to 7 shots only. But i will definitely go back there again.

#61 - i thought it was quite nice for the color palettes and its horizontal motion symetry. Is something that I recently trying out alot and again ICM inspiration from many photographers in flicker. One of them is Michaelwr. Is really cool.
You can check this out: http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelwr/sets/72157623523150583/

Thanks.

ahhhhh... I learned something today! :) Interesting!

Hello Bro. Alvin, Nice meeting you again at the outing. Actually I was watching you all doing composition so I can learn. He.. he..;)
Yes you are right. Quite flat and too blend i think for #62. I have one more to post in color and will take note. Thanks for the C&C.
Hope to see you again and learn.:)

For #61, very inspirational from Michaelwr.

Yes, it was good to see you and everyone else again after nearly 2 months lay-off. Feels good to be back!

Yup, I also started off by observing how the seniors compose and set up their shots. That is really one good way to learn, and I'm sure you'll agree with that :)

You are picking things up really fast and I am very impressed! Keep shooting and enjoy your learning curve.

Hi Zul, How are you? Yes is mini ICM done in photoshop and I really like the processing very much. But is not easy and quite tough. Also learning to understand. For this Sembawang beach ramp, I actually did think of doing it in ICM before I shoot. So I say that this composition was done with this ICM idea after I saw this ramp. Glad you like it and thank you. Shall practice more.:)

I'm doing just ok Manita..
You are really picking things up very fast! A very fast learner indeed!
I myself haven't tried many things, let alone ICM! there are so many things I'm still lacking and have yet to learn on the things that I'm doing now..
I'm really falling behind you and the rest of the guys in here :embrass:

Keep it up!

Hi Manita,
I have been following your series and feel that it is a very good landscape photography lesson for less savy folks such as I. All the pictures are beautiful and you really took great effort to produce them. The comments by all the sifus also provide us lesser mortals an interesting insight into landscape photography.:thumbsup:

For #61, I tend to agree with NNB that the moving ramp is not logical. I've also seen the 22 pictures of Michaelwr in your referred link. All the photos except one in the set showed sky and water in various colours and lateral formation. The exception was one that include a row of houses interspersed among what looked like stilts. If you look at the houses and stilts, they are all in sharp focus. The idea is probably to get all the natural colours of the sky and water and try to gel them laterally to form a dreamy looking palette, but where fixed structures and objects are concerned, these should be sharp in focus. I may be wrong, but ICM is something new to me and I shall read up more when time permits.

Cheers, keep shooting.
God Bless.

Hello Uncle Lew, Thanks for visiting my thread and thanks for the C&C. Yes, I am still learning and explore everything that i read. For ICM, I think is quite abstract but still try to learn more on this. Yes maybe the ramp should not be in motion but I will check this again.
Thanks:)

Manita color version also very nice, different feel to it. Good job!

Hello Uncle Albert, Thanks again. After seeing all the C&C and explanation in the critique thread, I do it in color and to improve on the contrast and tone and especially the POI to be highlighted.
Like Uncle Night86mare said, for the tones, show what you should want to show and hide what you want to hide.

Thanks Uncle Albert.:)
