Hi, thanks and glad you like it also. The weather is so gloomy and hazy for sunrise and sunset shoot. So try something different and learn something new for this one week school holiday. I will also try to improve more later and yes is a lot of work in PS. I think for cinemagraph, you need to compose something that can capture your eyes and must be really interesting. Thanks again.:)

Just a reminder to keep a firm eye on the composition and not get too carried away with obtaining the effect of PP tools.. Without composition a well processed photo is still a badly composed photo. The best is still to have a good composition, processing can always be redone if you get it wrong.

It is usually not such a good idea to chop parts of rocks off unless it is clear that you don't have a choice. For #152 I am wondering why you did not go for a horizontal composition and try to go lower and to the right with plans to clone that stray rock on the right away if you couldn't crop it out. It is a bit tight on left and right side.

#153, bottom rocks are also abruptly chopped for me. My suggestion here would be to go in front more and try to form a leading line with the two smaller rocks in the distance and the big foreground rock.

Try to take note that your sky shouldn't be darker than any other part of the picture, as it is the source of all light, where the sun is... #152 is fine, but for #153 the reflections of the sky are brighter than it, and so is the whole chunk of foreground rock..

Hi uncle WK,
Thanks for the C&C. Yes, agreed. Composition comes first. Both #152 and #153 are tonemapped and trying out some new things that I did not try before.

#152 - I did a vertical shot because there was too many smaller rocks on the right and will not give a good composition. Left side is just water. What i was trying is to form a triangular composition of those rocks in the frame. Yes, should have clone off the that stray rock on the right and could easily do it. Also agree that is a tight frame. All noted for #152.

#153 - Bottom rock and suggestion well noted. I did not push any brightness or exposure or playing with the curve slider and probably is due to the blending of one of the brighter image. My idea was to expose more details and texture of the rock with blending and in tone mapping for shadow clipping and micro contrast which I am still trying. I need to work more on this process and improve from there. Of course composition is still the first thing.

Thanks so much.

PS: I thought you go to TW this month? NNB say he want to go and shoot...

You must be using long exposure. ( with any ND filter?? )
How do u prevent the Flood lights on the Art Science museum from over exposing since u r using long exposure time ?

Hi Ahtim78, how are you and thanks for visiting.:) This shot is very wide and quite difficult to get everything balance because is a 4 image stitch. After that I crop for image size. Is quite dark already and the water is quite still on that day. So the exposure is about 12s. For that Art Science Museum, I took a different exposure and do blending and also for the rest of the frames. That is why it was not blown out. Hope is clear for you.
Thanks again...

PS: Did not use any ND filter.
