Any idea how much is this flash now? Is it still only available at K13 Peninsular Plaza?

sorry to ask again, couldn't read anything conclusive, is it TTL with E-520 on wireless? or just *not* with E-510 huh?
Thanks!

saw from the website that http://www.metz.de/en/photo-electro...litz-58-af-1-digital/product-information.html

does that mean it'll only take Oly wireless protocol as a slave, aka the on-board still needed as master?
not sure what the slave modes mean...

the secondary reflector is another bulb? sounds damn cool...

as far as i can understand,it should work the same as FL-50r and FL-36r because for Canon,they don't have built in wireless controller,hence they need 2 external ones,one to use as slave on a light stand and another on camera to send the signal,for Olympus,the control is built into the built in flash,hence they have their own "signal" to tell the slave flash to trigger without interuption from another flash which happens in slave mode,so i believe the slave mode on the Metz is a RC mode rather than really slave mode

I don't geth the secondary reflector is another bulb part,there are 2 flash,if you bounce the main one,the smaller one is the fill flash

another flash means means another bulb inside :) that's cool!
reading the manual now lol

oh the manual says slave is slave - one setting with group A or B. The TTL or Manual is determined by the Master flash...

I got mine at Sungai Wang plaza Kuala Lumpur.
Cost RM1300 eq to S$542.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::heart:

OT: any idea how much is AF48 nowadays? thanks

Hi ppl,

I'm deciding between the FL-50R and the Metz 58 for my E-3... getting really :confused: reading the information on the Metz website...

Can anyone advise me on this...
- the Metz 58 supports TTL on wireless? i.e. can be set on the camera's wireless flash settings?
- or does it just work like a normal slave flash, getting triggered by any flash going off and settings have to be dialed in manually?

:confused::confused::confused:

Thanks

is this flash available here in singapore? and I've had a friend tell me that metz quality isn't good.. i would liek to argue (based on reviews or what you people say here its moderately good) but i don't have experience on flashguns and all.. im also looking to buy one.. is this recommended.

If your friend uses Speedlights, then maybe he has a case for argument.

Most of the people I know who uses Metz flashguns on 4/3 camera systems bought them from overseas. Its a lot cheaper.

For the 4/3s METZ flash users, you might be interested in this thread on dpr.

To make the story short, the Metz 48 and 58 AF-1 digital flashes have a lower guide number when used with the Four Thirds system, more like a Metz 43 and 52 AF-1, respectively.
At 42mm (85mm), the 48 AF-1 becomes a 38 AF-1 and the 58 model a 46 AF-1 of sorts.

Anybody have any idea where to get this flash? I've asked CP and john, non of which have stock for this.

Try a certain shop at level 2 Peninsula Plaza - just outside BATA. I've forgotten the name of the shop though. It was quoted at something like $600+

You can try OP, don't think they have stock though.
