your merlion is slightly blown - it would be better to expose this by half a stop to a stop less, and then lift up the shadows.![]()
Nice saturated night shot you have there
just curious, how to get this kind of shot?
care to share the setting and gear used?
thanks...
thanks for the response
what WB did you used?
I tried a lot of night shot I wasn't able to achieve this,
I shoot raw, Im planning to change the WB but I don't know if there'll be an improvement or not.
DSLR: Fujis5pro
Lens: sigma 10-20
Tripod used
Shot at 7.30 pm with the following settings:
aperture: f8
exposure: 13 sec
iso : 100
focal length: 10mm
Using matrix metering. I meter somewhere below the merlion feet. If you meter the buildings, the merlion will be totally blown, all white. If you meter the merlion, the buildings will be underexposed. So i meter somewhere in between, around the feet area. The orginal was still blown, but not as bad.
You will then need to recover highlights or lift the shadows accordingly.
Hope it helps.
 wah... very nice
I suggest you submit this photog of yours to the STB, then your photog will be on the posters everywhere in Singapore as well as in the SIA's mags.
Cheers!![]()
a little bit of a saturated, but still a nice shot to me...:thumbsup:
