Mentor program

Just a suggestion for newbies like me who want to improve thier skills/shots.

•What is the purpose of the Mentor Program?
The Mentor Program as intended as a means for those who seek to improve their photography to get in touch with those volunteer members who are willing to help.

•Who are Mentors?
Mentors are simply more experience CS members who have volunteered to be "on-call" via email or on site shoots to share their expertise and advice on an individual or group basis base on their free time and their willingness to help others.

Mayb this would help those who are really interested in improving their shoots and have fun with it.

Thanks for the support!!.. I guess this will definately benifit all but of course it is still dependant on the availablility of those voluteers mentor's time.. hope the MODs and FMs would consider this

there might not be enough 'mentors' to go around though (esp since megaweb is in such hot demand). mabbe a rotation basis, or a senior-junior disciple thing?

Seriously speaking,
I'll not mind any mentor but at least he/she must be better and more experienced than me of course.

The aim is to learn something new and good and put it to good use. Learning from a very good mentor doesn't guarantee excellent results, it's the "after-learning" part that's most important.

And Larry, the rotation basis sounds good.

There can be a group of 3 to 4 newbies, and 3 to 4 mentors.
Additional benefits: the newbies can interact as well and learn from each other mistakes and skills.
And not all newbies or mentors need to be present at any 1 time though.

I would like to raise a point... mentoring in terms of photography technique and basic photography nuts and bolts are well and fine... there is another aspect that has to be covered as well.

Subject interaction. Especially more so if one is keen on doing portraiture and such. That is when learning how to talk, cajole, persuade as well as interact wit the subject is important.

Just my 2 cents worth of course...
