Yeah, I'm having the same thoughts. Of course if there's no way to pull out then I'll still accept the flash, as long as I get it eventually.

Sorry about the long delay guys, I have absolutely no idea why this whole mess is taking so long!
I will subscribe to this thread to make sure I don't miss any messages.
I have emailed them to go on and make the flash, and also mailed them some feedback on the diffuser units not fitting the flash head.
Well, I'll shoot them a email again. I will also try to squeeze some time out to make the trip to their ulu ulu office.
If you wish to pull out, I understand. I'm pretty fustrated about this whole mess myself. Guess I will try to get someone else to take the flashes. If you can find someone else to take over your unit - that would be the best!

Maybe you might want to try to call & talk to the Suntax Sales Manager or Director there. The engineer making the flash might be placing his priority elsewhere...

Thanks for all the help, I've recieved a reply already.
Apparently the flash (132) we are ordering is not a production unit. I was offered to get their new 9000ETS flash instead, which is their new product. They promise to deliver in 2 weeks. But the downside is that there is no swivel for this.
The advantage I see in this is that the body should not be as huge as the custom flash (132) we are getting now. I will confirm this with them and tell you guys.
The bad thing is that if we choose to stick with the 132, it is subject to avaliability of the technician, because the units are hand made.
Hopefully, the 9000 will be of a better quality as its a production unit.

Great! Thanks for the update. Hopefully it'll be a little more professional looking! Do continue updating us on the production of the flash, I'm willing to get the updated flash.

Do you think you can get them to give us a further big discount since
- they have delayed the delivery for so long
- the new flash doesn't have swivel
- production unit should be much cheaper than customised ones
- we are ordering so many units at one go
- we are one of the first (in the world?) to try out their new 9000ETS flash (we're their guinea p**s
)
Maybe can try to ask for 50% discount first
and see how they react.
For the above you might need to talk to their sales manager as the salesman or engineer normally can't make the decision.
BTW, will they be giving us 12 months warranty for the flash?
If yes, will they be issuing individual receipts / invoices as a proof of purchase? Or will the date will be written on the warranty card?

Yeap.. pls try to push for further discounts as mentioned by Tony K's.. actually the 9000 series should be cheaper than the 132 series, right? The guide number for the other 9000 series is only 24. Can get the specs for the 9000ETS??

actualyl for those who paid the deposit and still din get it after so long promised by the manufacturer...should be allowed to get a refund. after all it was a breach of contract...

Sorry to keep you in suspense, but I wanted to be sure of the details before I post.
I should be able to get the flashes late this week or next week. So, if all goes well, we'll be flashing at each other at SEED next week!
I couldn't get a discount, but am negotiating with them about the diffusers. Hopefully, it can be included in free or ordered for a few dollars. Think they have said that the diffuser sells for some red notes at shops, so, either way it should be worth it.
