actually you spend more when doing incremental upgrades cos you'll want this lens sooner or later

Yup i agreed , if you can afford the end game , get it as early as possible.

On the other hand, u do learn more when u start from consumer grade lenses.
As one takes more pics with a bigger range of lenses, one would be able to appreciate the differences btw. the different grades of glass.

U can purchase a CZ or G right away but might not be able to figure why u r paying a 4 figure sum. And this amount of $$ might not be worth the extra quality depending on your needs.

Lastly, these Gs and CZs weigh a ton and have a short focal range. They do result in much shoulder ache which might dampen a beginner's joy in photography.

yea you're right as one will appreciate the premium lens lineup when they've hit the performance ceiling on their current lenses.

the additional weight aint that bad IMO as you get much improved IQ when shooting at wide apertures & much more robust body build

On a brighter note, once you start using G glass there's no way back .. brace for 2nd mortgage ..

TOTALLY agreed.....

once you start...u can never stop....haha

Then once you go G, you start to look at CZ...

Well, not directly. I am a bigger fan of the Minolta lenses while looking at the colors and bokeh. Zeiss is obvious more sharp and sharpness is overall until the edges.

dunno which one is worse... modifying my car.. or my camera...
modify ur car will only make ur car heavier, increase fuel consumption, and best of all, more money goes out of ur pocket:bsmilie:

buying G and CZ lens/upgrading will make your camera heavier, increase memory card consumption, and best of all, more money goes out of your pocket too.....

HAHHHHAHAHAHAHAH:sweatsm::sweatsm:

hmm.... like that ar... then i think go for a compact camera better la... 1 or 2 GB is enough... memory consumption is so low. can take lots of images in just 1 card. haha

Actually most people modify the car to make it lighter, looks better and go faster....

Anyway, to simply put, these are 2 stages of man's life:

1) For single/attached/MBA, modify the car so as to attract more women (BMW=Bring More Women)...

2) For married, upgrade camera/accessories so as to have excuses to spend less time with wife, while car is just a transport tool...
