thinking of matching the 168 or 352rc or 308

which is better ?

i think the 168 is better cause of the higher weight capacity ... and it seems more stable then the other 2 ...

go for the bigger one...more stable.

i will choose 168 for the extra pan base

Maybe you should try all 3 yourself and see which you prefer.

Load capacity, smoothness of motion, how easy the knob is turned, separate pan control(168)...etc.

All are factors to be considered.

Best if you can head down with ur intended gear and try the ballhead+ tripod yourself.

then i can cut down on the few to test =)

go for the 308RC...bigger thus more stable.

I think 168 is also a ballhead with a separate pan base,It is also much bigger than a 308RC.

manfrotto website shows that the 190D can take a weight up to 4kg if i remembered correctly and is shorter than the 190DB

anyone knows the max weight load for the 190DB ?

You should see the real thing,it is way bigger than 352RC.Personally I find it to be v.good but not sure for you,and it is cheap too.
Paid $80 for 468RC at ms colour(Overprice???),so that I can use it on both my mono and tripod as 168RC is really too big for the monopod.Hope this help you .

Agree with you too but I like the separate pan control as it does not disturb the ball position when you release the pan control.
