Yup I m used a 190DB,the head fit ok but quite a heavy combo, too bad I sold my not long ago for $40 to Tai.

hmmm ok ok ... will go to CP and try and see whether they still got the 168Rc ... if not will test out the 468rc ...

hmmm bringing the tripod and head .... is it very taxing carrying it around ? how heavy is the 190db ? cause the 190d and 190b is 1.68kg ... the db should be heavier ? my guess is about 1.8 to 2kg ?

any other recommendations from other forumers ?

ok these are my final decision ....

manfrotto 190db with either of the following ..

1) 168 weight 0.72kg max weight 7kg (in case don't have cause out of production then the 468rc, weight 1kg, supported weight 16kg)

2) 486rc2 - weight 0.450g, max supported weight 6kg

3) 352rc - weight 0.5kg, max 4kg ...

anymore other comments ?

me getting tomolo .. waiting for the last few feedback.... please
;)

I think the 168RC was out of stock n production the last time i enquired at CP.

Comparing my old 308rc with the 168RC..
- 168 is bulkier n heavier than the 308
- 168 tightening lever for ballhead n pan base is made of plastic compare to 308 that is all metal
- 168 has a pan base which is good if u use it
- 168 has a larger QR plate and without the irritating tightening problem of 308rc

Guess if u don't mind lugging 168rc around, it's nice, but if all u need is a good compact simple ballhead, 308rc will do fine

Anyway, i'm fine n happy lugging kn34's 168rc around
:)

A bit regret after sell the 168RC and brought the 468RC,It also have the irritating tightening problem that is not present in the 168RC.
The 468RC tightening lever for ballhead is also made of plastic(I think
most new model ballhead tightening lever are made of plastic)
Sad to said my new ballhead may be smaller than the 168RC but then I dont really felt the weight lost ,it stiill feel dam heavy when lugging around.
The good thing is that now it look better on my monopod which i think 168RC look too big for it.:)
