Giggs extends Reds deal

Who can beat him? Dun think there is anyone wif such a long list think he is becoming a legend soon:thumbsup::devil:

Well at the moment, no one can beat him. He is untouchable. Only G. Neville and Scholes may have a chance. Maybe in years to come, will have a youngster like Charlton and Giggs playing for Man Utd and it will be his chance to surpass them.

Giggs is already a legend. He is currently Man Utd 2nd highest in terms of appereance and is the most decorated player. Won the most titles and trophies.

Olof's injury doubt
Aston Villa may go into Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter with United missing inspirational defender Olof Mellberg after the Swedish international injured his back on international duty.

Mellberg looks unlikely to feature in Sweden's side for Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Northern Ireland and now faces an uphill battle to regain fitness in time for the champions' visit to Villa Park.

Thirty-year-old Mellberg, who usually operates in the centre of defence, has spent the majority of this season at right back after Mark Delaney's retirement and Aaron Hughes' move to Fulham. If Mellberg fails to make Saturday's squad, Martin O'Neill is likely to turn to midfielder Craig Gardner for cover.

Meanwhile, Saturday's match also looks to be too soon for Villa striker John Carew, who limped out of action in Villa's 2-0 win over Everton last month.

"Carew is improving," Martin O'Neill said, "but I would, at this minute, say he was unlikely to be available for Saturday. Saturday would be the fourth week and we were always anticipating between four and six weeks."

Pray hard our guys got no more injuries n those injured recover fast as we got long tough n tight games till New years day!

Papers: Breaking records

Giggs deal to break record
Ryan Giggs was last night backed to beat Sir Bobby Charlton's record of appearances for Manchester United after signing a new contract until June 2009. Veteran winger Giggs is just 33 games short of breaking Charlton's record of 759 matches and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes the 33-year-old will surpass that feat. Giggs has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension. But Fergie reckons Giggs - who has won nine Premier League titles - is more likely to break Charlton's record next season rather than during this campaign. "We've got 29 league games left, hopefully another 10 or so European ties and the FA Cup, so it's possible this season," said Fergie. "But Ryan won't play every game. He'll be here next season, so this season or next he will do it."

Some have made the trip and some are planning as well. So maybe they can help. Actually, someone from this forum visited OT for a match as well but I forgot who. :bsmilie:

Thanks will try. Got a reply from manutd.co.uk. Apparently, for way advance booking, you can only purchased using the hospitality packages... The cheapest of the lot is still expensive!!!

Vidic sounds warning

Nemanja Vidic has warned of the pressures international duty can place on players in the Barclays Premier League.

Although concussion sustained in the Reds' victory over Wigan meant Vidic missed Serbia's Euro 2008 qualifiers this week – Saturday's 0-0 draw with Armenia and Wednesday's 6-1 win in Azerbaijan – the defender said many of his United team-mates will be tired after stints representing their countries.

Most players away on international duty will have boarded flights back to Manchester in the early hours of Thursday morning, but Friday's training session at Carrignton will be the only full run-out they'll have before Saturday's trip to Villa Park.

And Vidic says it's important to remember the effects of long-distance travel on the body. Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand have both returned from Russia, Darren Fletcher from Georgia and Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani from Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, Carlos Tevez has been in South America representing Argentina in World Cup 2010 qualifiers.

"There have been a lot of games for the players and we always find the match after an international break is very tough," Vidic told ManUtd.com.

"It's hard to come back to the club and adapt your game – everyone plays differently on international duty. When you return to United you have to find your feet again and it can take a few days to settle."

Vidic also suggested United's non-English players find the going even tougher.

"It's very hard when I have a home international game in Serbia, for example. I get to see my friends and family, which is nice, but that can take it out of you and it means you get less time to yourself to rest.

"Then again, when I'm playing for United I feel very professional because I don't have those distractions. I have a lot of time for myself to rest, think about the next game, prepare for the training sessions. I'm very comfortable here."

Tigers pounce for Campbell
Championship side Hull City have reportedly signed United striker Fraizer Campbell on loan until the turn of the year.

The 20-year-old striker has featured for United's first team side twice this season, as a substitute against Manchester City and Coventry City, and he will hope for more senior action with the Tigers.

City's first team coach, Steve Parkin, told the official Hull website: "I don't think it's any secret that we like Fraizer and he's coming to us from a good club.

"We believe he can do a good job and the important thing for us now is to make him feel very much at home and get him into the fold as quickly as possible. We have a very tight-knit, super group of lads and I'm sure he'll enjoy his time here."

Parkin also revealed that the Tigers have been monitoring Campbell's rapid progress for some time, and he is confident that the pacy forward can be a hit at the KC Stadium.

"We've watched Fraizer over a period of months rather than weeks," said Parkin. "Our chief scout Bob Shaw has seen him on several occasions as have Brian Horton and myself.

"He was also on the television a number of times during Manchester United's pre-season because he played a lot of games.

"I think we're all aware of his ability and what he can bring to us. It's all about giving him the confidence and opportunity to show that, which is something I'm sure we'll do."

Phil catches Robbo's eye
Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson is confident that loan signing Phil Bardsley will be a sound addition to his squad.

The Blades have struggled in the Championship after their controversial relegation from the top flight last term, but Robbo is hopeful that Bardsley bring solidity to his side's backline.

"Phil is a good pro and has come here to perform," Robson told the official Sheffield United website.

"I am confident he will do a good job for us and we are always looking to improve the squad. He also has experience out on-loan after spells at Burnley, Rangers and Aston Villa."

Bardsley has found first team openings limited at Old Trafford, but has already caught his new manager's eye in his short time training with the Blades.

Robson said: "He's fitted in with the lads straight away and he goes straight into contention for Saturday.

"It's important for me that Phil brings the right balance to the back four. He is a specialised full-back and that creates a more defensive sound unit."

 snice the day SAF annouce his youngster for loan everyone is like looking to have a piece of the pie!:bsmilie:

Owen pushing for return

Owen Hargreaves hopes to finally resume his promising start to life with United against Aston Villa this weekend.

Injuries have restricted the England midfielder to just three appearances since joining from Bayern Munich, but he hopes to finally make his return at Villa Park.

"I hope this is it for me injury-wise. I have missed enough games," Hargreaves told The Sun.

"I've been involved with football for quite a while and know injuries are part of the game, but I've tried to take more precautions as I've got older."

Owen has been out of action with tendonitis since facing Sunderland at the start of September, but an injection in his knee has been widely regarded as a success, hopefully clearing a path for his return.

And, with Michael Carrick still missing with a fractured elbow, Hargreaves' return would be a timely one as United aim to extend a six-game Premier League winning streak.

HOpe he dun push himself too much!

Mellberg boosts Villa

Aston Villa look set to be boosted by the return of Swedish defender Olof Mellberg ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter with United.

Mellberg looked likely to miss the match after injuring his back on international duty, but he recovered sufficiently to play and score against Northern Ireland on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, Saturday's match does look to be too soon for Villa striker John Carew, who limped out of action in Villa's 2-0 win over Everton last month.

"Carew is improving," Martin O'Neill said, "but I would, at this minute, say he was unlikely to be available for Saturday. Saturday would be the fourth week and we were always anticipating between four and six weeks."

Papers: Knight warns Reds

Knight: United in for a fight
Zat Knight has warned Manchester United they will be in for a shock when they visit Aston Villa. The defender reckons Martin O'Neill's men are turning Villa Park into a fortress and that they can see off United in the same way they shocked Chelsea. Knight said: "We can get something out of the game and hope to create another upset, like we did against Chelsea a few weeks ago. United are in good form at the moment but they are beatable. We just have to hope we can catch them on a bad day. Playing it at our ground will help as well, as we are trying to turn Villa Park into a fortress."
Andrew Haigh, The Sun

In transfer news, the Daily Mirror claim that Phil Bardsley would be happy to turn his three-month loan at Sheffield United into a permanent transfer, while the Daily Mail tips United to make a £7million bid for Partizan Belgrade striker Stevan Jovetic.

They will surely promote their hospitality packages as they will be selling direct to you. More profits. The link I gave you is the local MUFC fan site and some of them visited OT before. I dun think they bought the hospitality packages. Some are just hotels and match tickets. You can try asking them for advise but I'm not too sure about way advance booking.
