What ever reason it is.
Still kudos to him to reject the 2 million pound per month salary. :D

Hope City relegate due to the Kaka and Robinho saga.

:bsmilie: Robinho no longer can be seen at training grounds!

Robinho: I have no problem with Man City

robhughes-412.jpg

Robinho has moved to quash speculation that he is unhappy at Manchester City after he was reported to have walked out on the club during a training camp in Tenerife.

The striker was said to have flown back to Brazil after an altercation with City boss Mark Hughes, but has since maintained that he has no problem with the club, despite their failure to land international team-mate Kaka.

Robinho told BBC Sport: ''I had made Manchester City aware that I needed to return to Brazil because of a family matter. I will return to the club and hope to sort this out as soon as possible.''

He added: ''I feel it is important to underline that I did not return to Brazil because of the Kaka deal. He is one of my good friends and it would have been great to see him at Manchester City - but it had nothing to do with his decision to stay in Milan.

''I am committed to helping Manchester City become the force the owners assured me they will become.''

A statement on his personal website said: ''Robinho is very happy at Manchester City. He believes in the club's project, on its promises and proposals and has no intention of leaving his new home. There has been a lack of communication somewhere, but nothing has changed.

''Since last week Robinho had asked for the club's permission to travel, in order to solve some family problems. Therefore, after training at Tenerife on Monday he left for Brazil, with his wife and baby and will be back in a short few days.

''He will for sure be playing on Wednesday against Newcastle and, as usual, will give his all to help the club to achieve victory. He is very motivated and says he wants to be the league´s top scorer. Therefore, while in Brazil with the family, he will be excersing and keeping fit for the upcoming match.

''Robinho was cheering for Kaka and hopes that the club will soon find a replacement as high level as Kaka is.''

Chris Nathaniel, NVA Management CEO and personal advisor to Robinho, added: ''It is unfortunate that the portrayal of Robinho's decision to fly to Brazil has been cast in such a negative light.

''I have no doubts that this will all be cleared up when Robinho returns to the UK. The player is impressed by the owner's visions for the club and loves the passion of the City fans.''

Twist of the Robinho saga. :dunno:

Damn! Is the new Real boss insane or what?!
To say Robben is better than Messi?!

New Madrid chief: Robben is better than Messi

robben-205.jpg

New Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda has heaped praise on in-form winger Arjen Robben, insisting he would not even swap the Dutchman for Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.

Messi, who recently finished runner-up to Cristiano Ronaldo in the FIFA World Player of the Year awards, is enjoying a fairytale campaign at Barca and his performances have seen him showered with praise from all corners.

However, Boluda, who took over as interim Madrid president following last week's resignation of Ramon Calderon, admits he prefers Robben to the Argentinian.

"Robben is the more entertaining and I would not change him for Messi. He is the more electric player," Boluda told Spanish radio station Cadena SER.

Boluda also admits he is a big fan of Madrid coach Juande Ramos, who has won five of his six competitive matches since replacing Bernd Schuster in December.

Ramos' current deal at the reigning Primera Liga champions is only until the end of the season, but Boluda fully expects the former Sevilla boss to still be in charge next campaign.

"I think Juande is a great coach and that he is going to continue at Madrid next year because, moreover, he has a clause which says if he wins any title he will continue," added Boluda.

Boluda also said Real Madrid will take their bid to register new signings Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra for the Champions League to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

UEFA's appeals body said last week the Spanish club's bid to register the pair, who have already competed in UEFA competition this season with their previous clubs, had been rejected.

UEFA regulations say clubs can register as many as three new players for the knockout rounds by Feb. 1 but only one who has already played this season in Europe with another club.

Asked if Real would appeal the UEFA ruling at CAS, Real President Vicente Boluda said: "Yes. Because the club members will demand of us that we do everything possible for Madrid to the end."

RM always have crazy ppl there, so its no surprise. :bsmilie:

Not surprise that Kaka rejected Man City. Any superstar player with some brain will reject them cos they are fighting relegation! :bsmilie:

Man City have to build up its profile before trying to sign big name players. No one go there unless they are Robinho or Cashley Cole!

Cannot too obvious! wait people say we kelong! Maybe Last night he start the move that lead to Tim's goal?:devil:

Will not la. Phil Neville is 100% belongs to Everton, so no probs and its his duty as a Everton player to whack them pools hard. :bsmilie:

Think we've dealt Liv a decisive blow with Benitaz's help of cause. :bsmilie: Never seen such blunder before. Sub out 2 of his main strikers after leading 1-0. Even Italian clubs dun go so defensive. Their 7pts lead wiped out in a week and they must be kicking themselves real hard. Their game against Chelsea coming up in early Feb, hope its a draw game and both drop pts.

How bout this from the "Hollywood-Spice Boy-Ex-Man Utd-Star".
Think he should just shut his trap and concentrate on adding more England caps to his resume.
Maybe he will just stay at Milan and refuse to go back to LA Galaxy.

Beckham: Kaka will sign for Madrid in the summer

beckskaka-275.jpg

David Beckham has reportedly revealed that Kaká wants to go to Real Madrid in the summer after turning down the chance to join Manchester City.

According to Spanish paper AS, the Brazilian has asked the former England captain about life in the Spanish capital and has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu in June .

"Kaká wants to go to Real Madrid and not to City. I think he'll become a Real player in June," the on-loan midfielder told a friend, AS state.

"I think someone has called him and Kaká has made his decision."

While Kaka has decided not to move to the Premier League, the paper claim that Madrid will make their move for a player they have been linked with for months in the summer.

Former President Ramón Calderón, who resigned last week, had promised to sign Kaká in his pre-election manifesto in 2006, but was also quoted as saying that the Brazilian was not good enough to command a spot in the Madrid first-team just a year later.

Beckham, according to AS, has a good history of correct predictions as he apparently said that Brazilian striker Ronaldo would move to AC Milan over three years ago, when the pair were team-mates at the Bernabéu.

lol DB will do anything to encourage him not to join City cos he is a Utd fan. :bsmilie:

Tonite's game might get to see new signing Tosic play. Most young players will start i guess.

I hope Fergie will at least field a strong squad.
He can bring on Tosic after we are leading, definitely not in the starting.
We need to win by two goal margin to proceed to the Finals. :)

Nani's goal was a cracker.
He got the ball around the half way line.
Dribble down the left flank with players marking him.
Cut inside at the edge of the box.
And fired in a thunderous shot which left Roy Carrol gasping for air.

He has done that a few times already.
This boy has got bullets in his boots.

Anderson and Rafael join injury list after semi

Manchester United limped into the Carling Cup final on Tuesday night, with Rafael ruled out for a month and Anderson taken to hospital for x-rays on a serious-looking leg injury.

United's 4-2 second-leg triumph over Derby County confirmed a Wembley date - almost certainly with Tottenham Hotspur - on March 1. But it is Saturday's meeting with Spurs in the FA Cup that will concern Ferguson most as he copes with a massive injury crisis.

Aside from Anderson, carried off after the final whistle, and Rafael - who hobbled off just before half-time with a torn hamstring - Nani, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs all failed to complete the full 90 minutes.

While Jonny Evans did get to the final whistle, he was limping badly with an ankle injury.

"There are probably six or seven of them who have picked up injuries," confirmed Ferguson. "It has been a bad night in that respect.

"We finished with 10 men. But it was effectively nine, because Jonny was in great discomfort. We will just have to see what happens now."

Darren Fletcher is almost certain to be called on as a makeshift right-back until either Rio Ferdinand or Patrice Evra returns to action, something that is not expected for a couple of weeks at least.

Ferguson will hope to patch Neville up after being forced to introduce James Chester for his debut, while Rafael's brother Fabio may now come into contention at left-back.

The fitness woes took the gloss of another final for Ferguson, his 14th from 15 domestic semi-finals.

Nani curled United in front before John O'Shea and Carlos Tevez put the Red Devils into a comfortable half-time lead.

Substitute Cristiano Ronaldo tapped home a penalty in between two efforts from Giles Barnes - who is just coming back from his own injury troubles - to ensure there were no serious late worries against Nigel Clough's men.

"Fourteen wins out of 15 semi-finals is a great record. The club has done well in semi-finals down the years, and it is good to reach another final," said Ferguson.

The United boss has vowed to stick with youngsters such as Darron Gibson for the Wembley showpiece, with a trip to Turf Moor on the cards tomorrow for the outcome of Tottenham's last-four visit to Burnley.

Derby manager Nigel Clough admitted poor defending cost his side the chance of causing an upset at Old Trafford.

Nani's strike was virtually unstoppable, but the O'Shea and Tevez goals were down to lapses in concentration at the back.

However, Clough felt the first half had still been an improvement on the 2-0 home defeat by QPR at the weekend.

"The first goal knocked the stuffing out of us; 30 yards in the top corner ... you can't do much about those," he said.

"Defending the second and third goals was disappointing. But it was a vast improvement on Saturday - even the first half.

"It would be very easy to give up the ghost, 3-0 down at Old Trafford, and we could have been on the end of five or six.

"I asked them to defend a bit better and have a go and I thought we did that. We took the game to them as much as we could.

"We kept going, got the goal - and it was a little bit jittery for five or 10 minutes.

"We showed a bit of character, which after Saturday was what we were looking for.

"It was nice for Barnes to come on and get a couple of goals. He has been out (injured) for a long time."
