Got a feeling that if really there is some big star coming they all will be watching tonight's game ... so we must qualify for CL maybe that will speed up some of the big stars transfer decision ...

Rooney hit a hat trick as we won 4-0 at Club Brugge.

Finally a decent score line win as it is an away trip in Belgium. Rooney no goal then is draught and when goal is like keep pouring in typical Rooney! Herrera got the final one!

Indeed. Glad to see herrera doing well. :) I always have time for someone who plays well even in limited time. I am quite sure he must have been caught vandalising LVG's car or something to account for why LVG still refuses to trust him.

Great stuff.

A win to seal CL place is excellent. But question is if Rooney can score ha-trick against a good Belgium side but why he cannot score in BPL? Hope that he can carry the momentum in scoring into BPL matches. We are not out of the waters yet in terms of our strikers scoring consistently. LVG must know that the BPL matches are different. We must not get complacent. Anyway, congratulations to MU for a fine win. Let's look forward to the draw tom and see who are we against in the CL table.

Nice thumping win. Good to see Rooney bagging 3.

Our Capital One Cup tie against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford will be played on Wednesday 23 September (20:00 BST).

Fresh from the oven

We are in group B

PSV Eindhoven Man United, CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg

Lets see how far United has come with LVG in charge!

Tough games esp away games but we should be able to get 10points as SAF always say we need only 10 points to qualify ...

The independent: DDG to sign for Madrid tomorrow £29 mil, no Bale in return and setting sights on Draxlar.

After yesterday results we hung on to 4th position ... all we need is 3 points from tonight's game to leap from to 2nd place!

Its Match day!

Agreed. As other top clubs are not getting the results they should be, a win for us tonight will consolidate our points and position which will account for significantly later in the season. Go Mu Go Go Go

Jonny Evans has completed his transfer from Manchester United to West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The Northern Ireland defender is a product of the Reds' Academy system and made 179 first-team starts, plus another 19 appearances as substitute, and scored seven goals. He won six major honours with United - three Premier League titles, two League Cups and the Club World Cup.

Finally good bye!

Manchester United and Scottish champions Celtic have agreed a season-long loan deal for defender Tyler Blackett.

The 21-year-old has risen through the ranks at the club and signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford last February.

The Scottish Premier League champions, who will be competing in the Europa League, have agreed a deal to take Blackett north of the border and he will link up with former Under-21 colleague Saidy Janko, who moved to the Bhoys permanently earlier this summer.

After making his debut against Swansea City in last season's opening fixture, Blackett went on to make 12 appearances for Louis van Gaal's team last term.

and with Blackett gone whom he made debut last season against Swansea ...

Starting XI: Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger; Mata, Herrera, Memphis; Rooney.

subs: Johnstone, McNair, Valencia, Carrick, Young, Fellaini, Chicharito.

Two changes from the team v Club Brugge, with Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger in for Carrick and the injured Januzaj.

Today marks his 50th competitive game as Manutd manager.

Should be able to deliver the results needed and hopefully not like someone's hundred game! ;p

HT: Swansea 0 mufc 0. United started strongly before the hosts came back into it but it's goalless at the break.

We urgently need a finisher n another defender!

49 min - GOAL! Swansea 0 #mufc 1. Mata scores!
