Manchester United transfer rumours: Paul Pogba and Blaise Matuidi if Pogba deal falls through.

Just sign Pogba and Matuidi already.. French connection!

Paul Pogba was the player that caught my eye when Juventus played against Singapore Selection. Big, strong and aggressive in winning balls and played well both defensively and offensively. It is as if you are getting two players in one. Definitely one of the best in the world. I wondered then why Man U who fought with other clubs to sign him, lsold him without him playing in the senior team.

Actually they didnt sell him and they did play him a couple of times in the first team.. He left on a free transfer after refusing to sign a new contract.

Read somewhere ...
According to SAF in his book he wrote that he didn't want to sell him ... it is his agent when during that time when they were out (for pre-season)agreed to the move to Juve then ... SAF was caught by surprise n unaware ...

Not so new rumours lol:

Breaking

Manchester United have clear run at signing Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba as Real Madrid end their interest in Euro 2016 star for economic reasons, Sky sources understand.

Manchester United’s path to sign Paul Pogba is now clear after Real Madrid ended their interest in the midfielder for financial reasons, Sky Sports News HQ has been told.

According to sources close to the deal, United’s superior financial strength has given them a huge advantage in negotiations with Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, and forced Real to admit defeat in their pursuit of the player

At this point in negotiations, the basic transfer fee for Pogba is understood to start at around £85m (€100m).

However, when taking into account add-ons and bonuses related to the success of the player and the club – as well as Raiola’s fee – the total amount United pay for Pogba’s transfer could reach over £105m (€123m).

This is not including the player’s contract, which is expected to comfortably exceed £65m, were the club to pay him a basic salary of £250,000 per week on a five-year contract.

So GG those youngsters...

Quite sure he left United on a Bosman to be honest. Not sure where all those impressions about him being sold came from. United did receive some compensation as in the case of young players who leave their clubs before a certain agent.

Fergie was pretty much left with very little to no leverage once Pogba refused to sign a new contract and instead let his contract run down. He couldnt even try selling Pogba off before the end of his contract since they were trying to convince him to stay by playing him a couple of times in the first team between Jan and June . But of course by then Pogba's mind had already been turned, supposedly by his agent.

In any case.. quite a pity that Blackett is leaving. He started off quite well but seemed to lose some steam after a while?

JOSE'S MESSAGE FOR THE FANS

Jose Mourinho says he will do all he can to make the Manchester United fans happy, but the Reds boss insists the supporters have a big part to play in his plans for success.

In an exclusive interview for adidas Front Row, Mourinho spoke of his pride at being at the Old Trafford helm and, while he realises fans' expectations are high, he discussed how the backing from the stands will be vital.

"I understand that they expect a lot from me but I also expect a lot from them," he declared. "There is no chance we will be happy if we are not together and I think the passion [they have] for this club is really amazing.

"It’s a new chapter in the club’s life. Always when you change a manager, I feel it is a sad moment but it is a new chapter now. We have brought a few new faces in, we will keep some others but, in the end, it doesn’t matter who the manager is, it doesn’t who the new players are or who is staying or leaving, it’s Man United and Man United is much more than any one of us.

"The passion the fans have is for the club and I feel that I am a club man. When I arrived, I wore the [United] shirt immediately and this is the kind of club and the kind of shirt that I am very proud to represent. I am going to do my best to be happy and to make the people happy."

In terms of targets for his first year, Mourinho is clear in his mission.

"I’m not humble when I talk about targets, I’m quite aggressive on that. I want everything and everything is to win matches, play well, score goals, don’t concede goals… everything. I want everything," he insists. "I know that we are speaking about a hypothetical situation which is very difficult to reach but I want everything."
