one point is always better than nothing! ;)

hope LVG signs one more defender or DM(not dimaria)

on the bright side we can only get better ...
And we are still unbeaten at Stadium of light since March 1997...

we still need someone to bring the ball in from midfield. Right now, the play is flat flat flat. Sideway and backward passing?
we had more possession but the attack from defense up just lack bite.

cleverly, fletcher and young can seriously be considered sold.

If LVG is banging on these players to bring his new philosophy to life, he needs to start the fire in these players fast. Right now, there simply is no fire.

hopefully this thread title would not seem overly optimistic as the season progresses

No fire is just about right. A properly motivated lesser team will beat a team like manutd anytime.

another disappointing performance..

same shitty performance as last year but difference response from United fans so far..
most of us see LVG as a savior.. maybe because of the way he approach the media.. so we have been blaming the players and the Glazers instead of LVG..

but watching the games so far i realised that LVG is always rooted to the seat.. so far i have not seen him moving to the touchline to watch or to even "instruct" the players.. even Giggs is always seated as compared to when he was the caretaker manager.. i find it abit strange cause in the past and in the WC LVG is not always seated.. instead he is quite active..

i wonder if he has anything up his sleeves.. to test the patience of the fans/ the board?.. so that the board will be pressured to buy players?..

Ya....quite strange that saw him sitting for the whole game

He's observing who to give the hair dryer's treatment in the locker room after the match or he just realised what he's gotten himself into.

Must be the Glazers' fault.

Giggs (to LVG): Louis, the midfield needs some help, shall I warm up now?

Preview: MK Dons v United

Date, time and coverage: Tuesday 26 August, 20:00 BST. The match is live on Sky Sports in the UK. You can also follow the action via ManUtd.com’s live blog and the club’s official Twitter account @ManUtd.
Form guide: Louis van Gaal is still seeking his first competitive win at United despite an outstanding pre-season campaign and will be treating the Capital One Cup and the club's maiden visit to stadium:mk seriously. After the disappointing defeat to Swansea City in the league opener, a point was secured at Sunderland with a 1-1 draw. MK Dons are seventh in League One after a home stalemate with Coventry City at the weekend left Karl Robinson's side with seven points from four games.

Ins and outs: Several fringe players and youngsters could be included with a trip to Burnley in an early kick-off on Saturday on the horizon. Chris Smalling joined an extensive injury list when limping off at the Stadium of Light, leaving Mike Keane, Tyler Blackett and Phil Jones to form a largely inexperienced backline. There are suggestions new signing Marcos Rojo's work permit will not be processed in time but Under-21 skipper Tom Thorpe is an obvious option if more defensive cover is required. Exciting striker James Wilson could feature in the squad. Arsenal loanee Benik Afobe, who was on the bench on Saturday, could play for the Dons if permission is granted by the Gunners.

Betting: Official betting partners bwin believe the Reds are strong favourites on Tuesday night. Van Gaal's men are 17/50 with the Dons priced at 7/1. The draw, which would take the tie to extra time, is 15/4. A 2-1 triumph for the visitors, after 90 minutes, is available at 29/4.

Last meeting: The two clubs have not met since Wimbledon relocated to Milton Keynes and became the MK Dons. However, United faced Wimbledon 32 times and were knocked out of the FA Cup at Selhurst Park in 1997 when Peter Schmeichel saw a late goal disallowed. The last three matches between the sides were all draws, with the most recent a 2-2 scoreline in 2000 when Jordi Cruyff and Andy Cole netted for Sir Alex Ferguson's Reds.

Star man: Local lad Delle Ali may only be 18 years old but the powerful midfielder has been attracting admiring glances from Barclays Premier League scouts. The teenager is capable of scoring and creating goals and has been capped by England at Under-17 and Under-18 level. There has been speculation Liverpool could look to make another raid on Milton Keynes for him after previously swooping for fellow prospect Seyi Ojo.

Opposition boss: Karl Robinson is a young manager with a reputation for playing good football. The Merseysider is only 33 but actually took over the reins of the Buckinghamshire club when still in his twenties. Although with Everton as a schoolboy, he played the entirety of his first-team career at non-league level as both a midfielder and striker.

Quote/unquote: "We'll have to put our crash helmets on and park the bus and do all the things you have to do with the good teams." MK Dons boss Karl Robinson.

Whistle-blower: Stuart Attwell is the referee for the second-round clash in Milton Keynes. The 31-year-old hails from nearby Nuneaton and was the youngest official in Premier League history when taking charge of Blackburn Rovers' fixture with Hull City six years ago.

Yet another defeat..

This defeat really shows our weakness.. No control on midfield and defence is in shambles.. Although many are young players but this 3-5-2 system requires 2 very good midfielders and 2 wing backs.. We have none of those players and the players were are linked to (except Vidal) also does not specialise in these roles..

With Di Maria coming in, I think LVG will be changing formation this Saturday against Burnley..

Haha this is really awful. Moyes may have been sacked a bit too early, as some may say after this defeat. But the truth is that he didnt have the track record for the club and its supporters to trust in to pull through.
