Injury concerns for Reds:

Louis Saha is still not fit enough to play any part in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Watford, while the Reds will have to wait on the fitness of John O'Shea, who suffered a calf injury on Tuesday against Roma.

Saha has missed the Reds' last eight games because of a hamstring strain. He could be available for Tuesday's Premiership clash with Sheffield United at Old Trafford, but he is more likely to be in contention for the squad to face Middlesbrough next Saturday.

O'Shea meanwhile was withdrawn on 52 minutes against Roma on Tuesday after picking a calf knock and he remains a doubt for Saturday's match at Villa Park.

"John didn't train on Friday," confirmed Sir Alex Ferguson at his pre-match press conference. "But hopefully he will be OK for Saturday. Patrice Evra came in at right-back on Tuesday and did very well.

"My other decision is that Paul Scholes is back from suspension. Changing a winning team is very difficult after the way they performed against Roma. But Paul's experience could be important in a semi-final."

The United boss also confirmed that Gary Neville, who was expected to be back for the Sheffield United game, faces at least another week on the sidelines.

Ronaldo signs new deal at Man Utd

"I am delighted. I spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson about my future and everyone knew that I wanted to stay," he said.

"I am very happy at the club and I want to win trophies and hopefully we will do that this season."

I'm tired of that Saha. He is a very good striker but always injured. Should just sell him. O'Shea is bad news man. We have not got anymore defenders with 3 still out. Maybe Evra can do O'Shea's job.

Yes he should stay. There isn't a better club than Man Utd and with the support that the club and fans gave him after the WC incident, he should stay and repay. But he have been insisting that he wants to stay since late last year and its Madrid that keep trying to unsettle him. Now Madrid can go disturb Milan and their Kaka. :bsmilie:

1 up after 7mins! Wayne Rooney.

4-1 to Man Utd..getting worrying with all the injuries to the defenders..this time Rio..VDS seems very shaky with handling these few games..press on Man Utd..and go all the way for glory..

I cannot believe it! Rio Ferdinand injured?! Wah lao! Really unbelivable! ;( Entire backline wipe out!

Nice 4-1 at least. We're going to Wembley! We're going to Wembley! The rest can watch Man Utd play at home and in the stands!

yep...GD no fight for man u. :)

Haiz.....still dunno the Rio situation. Consolation is Alan Smith gave Utd a fresh attack. Since he is back, he scored 1 against Roma and made 3 goals lastnite.

Got some weird rumour that Utd will bid for M. Owen if he can recover to full fitness. !@#$%^&*!!! The only good thing i see in this deal is the price. If i'm not wrong, he is avaliable at a budget price of 12-13M. Thats his get out clause.

Ferdinand hopeful of quick return

Rio Ferdinand will have a scan on his injured groin but the Manchester United defender is confident he will be fit to face Middlesbrough on Saturday.

"I should be all right for Saturday but don't know about Tuesday against Sheffield United," said Ferdinand.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Gary has a slight chance for the Middlesbrough game but a good chance for the AC Milan game."

Law backs Man Utd to clinch another treble

Manchester United legend Denis Law is backing the club to clinch another remarkable treble after powering their way to the FA Cup final.

The former Scotland international watched with delight as Sir Alex Ferguson's men brushed Watford aside at Villa Park yesterday just four days after trouncing Roma 7-1 to reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Law is now convinced they can go on to repeat their treble success of 1999.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek show: 'They are now in the final of the FA Cup, I think for a certainty they will win the league, so it is just a matter of if they play well in the semi-final against AC Milan, there is a great chance they can do the treble.

'I think the league is definitely won. In cup finals, it is the team that has a little bit of luck, but the way they are playing, the confidence is so high and with players like (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Wayne) Rooney...

'They will win the league, I am sure they will win the FA Cup and with a bit of luck, they could win the Champions League.'

Tuesday night's demolition of Serie A giants Roma set up a Champions League semi-final showdown with AC Milan with either Chelsea or Liverpool awaiting the winners.

That victory represented a statement of intent and brought back memories for Law.

He said: 'Apart from when they won the Champions League several years ago, this would have to go down as probably the greatest victory Sir Alex Ferguson has had in the competition so far.

'They have got everything, the way they play. Don't forget, you are talking about a team that is second in the Italian Serie A, you are not talking about a team from Andorra, if they have got a team from Andorra.

'This is something very special, so when you beat a team like that 7-1 - and it must be a record defeat for an Italian team in a European competition - there is a great chance they can do the treble.

'It was very similar to a win we had going back into the '60s when we went to Benfica and we beat them 5-1 in a quarter-final and then we were in the semi-final of the FA Cup as well.

'Unfortunately we had injuries and in the end, we did not win anything.

'But this time, it is different.'

The form of Portugal international Ronaldo, who this week agreed a new five-year contract, in recent months has been superb.

Indeed, Law, who played alongside George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton at Old Trafford, believes he could become the greatest of them all.

He said: 'They way he is playing, yes, there is a great chance. He is so exciting and of course when you have got Rooney up front with him as well, that is a formidable duo.

'They could go on and win everything.'

Asked to compare Ronaldo to Best, Law replied: 'It is very difficult in the circumstances. You are going back many years, but I suppose if Bestie played in this team, yes, they would be on a par.

'In our team, we had Bobby Charlton and Bestie. To play with players like that just raises your game as well.

'If you are not playing well, you know Bestie will do something or Bobby will do something, and that is exactly what they have got in the United team at the moment.'

Yeah we're going to kick some russian a$$ in the finals:devil:

Milan hailed 'Kings of Europe' by Italian press

ROME, April 12 (Reuters) - Italy's sporting press paid tribute to AC Milan after they beat Bayern Munich 2-0 in Germany to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Wednesday's win, which meant Milan became the first team to beat Bayern in a European game at the Allianz Arena, sent the Italian club through to the last four, where it lines up alongside a trio of English sides, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Turin-based Tuttosport celebrated with a front-page headline in English: 'Milan, only you' it read.

Milan were 'Kings of Europe', said Corriere dello Sport, which hailed the club's unrivalled recent record in Europe.

Since 2003, Carlo Ancelotti's side have won the Champions League once, finished runners-up once, and twice more reached the semi-finals.

'Fly, Milan, fly,' said La Gazzetta dello Sport, as it looked forward to the last-four tie against Manchester United, who thrashed Italy's other representative in the competition, AS Roma, 7-1 on Tuesday.

The paper was warm in its praise for English football, drawing a line under a week of recriminations in the English and Italian media over the violence that broke out between United fans and Italian police at Rome's Olympic Stadium.

English football, said the paper, had 'learned how to turn its darkest moments into treasure, picking itself up after a tragedy and setting off towards a glittering future.'

'At the moment there isn't a team in the world that plays football as brilliantly as Manchester United,' added the paper.

Milan could draw hope, however, from their record of three wins from their previous three meetings with United in Europe's top club competition.

The Italians eliminated United in the semi-final stage of the 1957/58 and 1968/69 European Cups and the quarter-finals of the 2004/05 Champions League.
