Anyone knows what's the price for the Mamiya 7II + 80mm f4 kit ... roughly?

Also, how practical it is to use with the 35mm panorama adaptor with 35mm film?

Thanks

Someone selling for about SGD1700 over here in clubsnap sometime ago.

When I was in Japan, a minty condition one without the pano kit already cost more than SGD1800.

Depending on condition, the mamiya 7 would sometime cost as much as a XPAN.

Prices for such cameras these days have risen recently.

I know the kit for 35mm is really expensive though.

I sold my Mamiya 7ii quite a while back after I got tired lugging it around. :)

Hi Cathay selling Mamiya 7ii with 80mm len for $2550.

I was actually thinking of mamiya 7 before i got my xpan.
one reason for getting the xpan was because xpan has a metellic body.
mamiya is so plastic.

well, xpan is compact. Mamiya is like a pro SLR.
I would go for xpan too but it's very difficult to find and more expensive than the Mamiya 7II

Frankly speaking, I don't like the grip of the Xpan. It doesn't feel comfortable at all.:what: Anyway, this is just my POV only. No offend to all Xpan users out there. Cheers:)

PS: But the cinematic pics produced by the Xpan was marvellous indeed.

Ohh.. i don;t like the grip of xpan too. but the results blew my breadth away each time i look at the flim over a light box.

come to think about it.. none of the RF, old or new... leica, bessa, etc. has any better grip like those bulky pillow size dslr. the idea of RF is compactness, grip adds additional space to the body which is kinna of redundant. :)

Try the Bessa Trigger Winder with the Bessa body. So far, one of the best I have held. :)

i have th 7II with the panoramic adapter.
initially i thought that the adapter idea is kinda cool because i can shoot a manoramic shot on a 35mm, but then again i can also crop on a 6x7. besides with the price of film for 35mm and 120 mm at almost the same, there is not really a motivation to get myself stuck with a roll of 35mm in the camera.

but having said that, i just got the kit this year so only time will tell if my preferance change.

Get the mamiya 6 if you are worried about size, the lens retracts inwards to form a really compact MF unit.

Sure it's bigger than a bessa or leica, but I don't thing there's any MF camera that's this compact.

well, I have an M7 with 65mm and the pano adapter for sale. It is still at TCW.

cheers

Paisatge, As for lens, go for the 60mm, instead of 80mm.You will never regret it.

totally agree. 65mm is a better lens to have if you plan to have only 1 lens.
Else a 43mm with an 80mm is a killer combo.
Then again it really depends on your shooting style.
what lens do you use most in 35mm terms?
