I am changing my travel plans for next year ... I am going to Maldives

Hmm... then I must be the envy of you guys. I worked in the Maldives!!
I survived the 2004 Tsunami and after 20 months of re-building we now have 2 brand new resorts in the Maldives....

There's only 1 travel plan for me, Maldives still! kekekke.....
Lucky you!! Care to share what's your job scope? developer!!
Anantara? or the newer Shangrila? Hmmmmm.....Must be the new 2 Four seasons resort!!
I don't even mind working there as a GO!
Hi siruslim,
Yes...Maldives is really a lovely place to go. Went there twice, 2005 & 2006, and now broke.
2005 Hilton's trip was 8 nights there cost around S$8k plus in total, SQ flight, seaplane, accom+breakfast, meals, excursion, special dinner etc for 2 pax.
2006 Mirihi's trip was 9 nights, cost around S$8k plus, same thing, everything in....
Ex but I think worth every cents. Not everytime we can enjoy like Kings & Queens...... at least once in a lifetime!
when come back to Singapore.....become a slave again! :bsmilie:
 I'm really honoured...Really, I'm not that good...just that I'm at the correct place and at the right time. I still lots and lots of things to learn.
Cheers mate!
That's the ultimate honeymoon location....go for it! 100% no regret!
Thanks MAte! Must go!! Glad that u like it
Tis place is just awesome... nice series

I recall Hitman once posting a few pics of the resorts his company was building. ;p
So many resorts..so little money
I think Starwood is also building some villa only resorts. Very exclusive stuff.
Hi there, lovely pictures indeed!
You booked the accom, SQ, seaplane, etc on a seperate basis? Don't they have a package deal for Hilton Maldives?
$8k+ for 8 nights per person?????? or for 2?
What are the available activities you did there over the 8 days?

Any underwater fotos to share? I presume you did scuba diving while you are there too right? It will be a waste if you didn't.

WOw...... your pictures are fantastics..... Thanks for sharing these pictures..... Time to save some money for Maldives..........
hope that you've enjoy the pics.
hope that you've enjoy the pics. Thanks Bro!
Oh...so Hitman is the developer is it?
Oh yeh, I'm monitoring the progress of the new Starwood resort, the one I know is already open, under the W-hotel chain. The cheapest villa rate is USD1300++ per night, max at USD5100++ per night per room!!
Shangrila currently building their flagship at the south of Maldives, near to the new Gan international airport.
The hotel giants are are War in MaldiveS!!

No, I'm not a developer, I'm the.. (ahem).. Financial Controller, I press calculator and count money...
Many new hotels are coming up in the next 2-3 years. So once the supply and demand increases, the rates will also be adjusted somehow. The challenges we have is logistics, everywhere you go, you need a boat. Not just having boats, you need to look at the weather and the tides... back during the construction period, we have construction materials coming in, but got stuck at the reef because the tide is too low, have to wait til midnight for high tide to bring the barge in... Lots of other challenges in making things happen here. But it's worth the hard work, and I'm proud to be part of the team in the re-building of the resort that was hit by the tsunami and also the construction of the new resort which opened 3 days ago...
