your internal flash fires. the slave circuit on the external flash detects it and fires the flash.

yes, there are two sensors in this flash, and when your main flash fire, the slave flash will fire at the same time.

for my F707, cos it have pre-flash, i can set this flash to fire on the 2nd flash and thus ignore the pre-flash.

it will also calculate the power u need, but of cos it is not as accurate as TTL flash, but TTL flash cost a bomb and not every camera support it.

btw, there is an adapter for u to mount your flash EVEN if your camera has no hotshoe...read my previous post of the photo

may i know how much is this selling outside? just want to know how much it roughly cost

Kamwai:
You got me really interested. My built in flash is really too weak. You said something about auto power sensors, does that mean that it will prevent over-exposures? How much for the slave flash with the handle, hotshoe and adapter (similar to the PS2000)? Still $90.

Kevin:
Hahahah, how are you? Investing more money into your hobby har? ;) ;p

auto flash means the flash will calculate the power to use with its own sensor, thus prevent over-exposures.

however, it is not as accurate as TTL flash, but TTL flash cost a bomb and very few camera support it.

I dunno how much for the handle version, i will check it out for u.

Can those of you who are interested send me a PM with your contact number? Tell me the GN u want, handle/non-handle version.

I will check out the price and call u all for a final confirmation.

Kamwai:

Thank you. Will PM you. Can the adapter be mounted on a tripod?

Does the flash allow you to manually dial in the setting??

I guess he meant setting the level of the power (e.g. 1.8, 1/4, etc)

That is misleading, TTL is a VERY popular method for metering in most non-P&S cameras (note: some P&S cams, especially modern-day DCs, DO have TTL support).

thanks for the correction :p

i was misleaded by the sales man in CP peninusla, that's what he told me...

I'm interested...but

Question:
1. Can this be used as bounce flash or diffusion flash?
2. Bounce or diffusion better?? (Pros and cons?)
3. Is TTL or slave better? (when used with my f707)
4. Anyway to use the TTL as a slave?

Thanks. :)

1 & 2. It can use as bounce flash, as the head and tilt up and down, even left and right! so u can make use of ceiling or wall to bounce the flash. Read my previous thread, u can add the white cap for diffuse flash, purpose of diffuse flash is for wide angle shot.

3 & 4. 707 dun have support for external TTL flash. and this is the ONLY slave flash that i found, which can ignore the pre-flash and fire at the exposure flash

if u are interested, PM me the contact, i guess u want the 40GN, non-handle version rite? (handle version is for those DC with no hot/dummy shoe)

sorry for the delay, the enginner just call me cos he went oversea for a few days.

He told me that for 40GN, it require different components which is difficult to find and he dun have those components at the moment.

so right now, he can modify the flash that already in production (Kako 9000) and add a manual control to adjust the power (for just a few dollars more, around $70+)

or would u all rather wait until he find the components??

Kako 9000 orginally dun have a manual control, so it may not work at full power everytime, but a switch can be added, and push the GN to abt 28.

what do u guys want? for the diffuser, it will cost a few dollars also.

Kamwai, need to clarify a few things, We are getting from Suntax or Kako? The whole thing is $70+ or $90+, for the handle version as well?

Kako made by Suntax...same company..

Kako 9000 with manual control switch (which he have to add it) is abt $70+

for the GN40 version, which uses 132 body, will be abt $90+ however, he cannot find the components and it is not easy to find.

Can we wait for the GN40 one?

(Good, since my wallet empty now. Blame westwood. :D)
