nice.. wat is the aperature u use?

hi i am using a raynox 250 with ef-s 55-250 lens. when i take close up shots of flowers or insects, i cant seem to get the focus right.

if we divide the frame into 9 boxes, the focus is only clear in the middle row while the top and bottom row is blur. most of the times it does affect the subject i am taking as i cannot get a clear focus on it.

i saw your photos and they are awesome, especially with the way you control the focus. how do you achieve that? please help me out here, thanks a million!!

use a smaller fstop ? like f/8 onwards? think that'll help. :)

that means is f8 all the way till f32? then how do i solve the slow shutter prob if i do not have a ext flash? i am using a puffer pop up flash diffuser by gary fong, and the flash seems to spoil the ambience of the photo.

I dun think the flash will spoil the photo.. it actually brings out the details of the insects/plants

alright, i shall go test out with shots with higher f-stops. thanks so much for your help!!

I'm now thinking of getting myself a Raynox 250 for my Nikon D60!
Would it mount properly with my Kit Lens?

Where could I buy it here in Singapore and How much?
.

Im also using D60 when i took this shot but with 55-200mm not the Kit lens. You can use it with your kit lens but don't expect close shots as your max focal length is only 55mm. You can look at Jim_Mcgill's Thread at mass sales section to order the lens.

I usually use f8-f16 aperture for this shots.

All of my shots are taken using only the pop up flash. I use a DIY diffuser and i place it at the end of the lens so the barrel will not create a shadow at the bottom of the image taken. Try to change the intensity setting of the pop up flash on the menu to control the exposures. O BTW my DIY diffuser is made of Empty dish washer liquid container.

very very intrested in macro photos after i saw the pictures listed here. This is a new thing to me that can take such beautiful photos without having a macro lense. My camera is D80 with 135mm zoom kit lense. Can i use Raynox 250 with my lense? and very intrested to know from where can get this lense in singapore and the cost. Please reply. Thanks

Thanks for your useful tips... would you be kind enough to share how the diffuser is set up? TIA

What i did was i place the diffuser in between the raynox lens & its universal adapter so it will be firm and stable.
