people use macs for the same thing you use a windows pc. really. they're all personal computers.

the advantages and disadvantages of mac vs. pc can be discussed until the cows come home, but it mostly is a personal preference. people in the creative industries usually use macs for their layouts, editing, whatnot. This is an industry standard.

My advice is, go and try it out at any applecentre. ask lots of questions to clear your doubts, and then make your decision.

And cos i know you'll choose a mac, welcome to the world of Macintosh! ;)

Think Different.

juz watched macworld keynote 2004 for the past hour or so on my PC, i must say Steve Job is a great presenter. And the garageband app is out of this world, would like to have a ipodmini and who knows..... i may consider using mac. hahahaha....really a brain wash session....... :bigeyes:

PC=personal computer (IBM compatible)
MAC= My Appple computer

when people talk about PC, they usually mean Windows based, although Linux , Unix, AMD can refer to PC.

PC doesn't give BSOD ? :think:

hehe, I thought u gonna give computer history lessons.. :blah:

anyway, original PC was created by IBM and was termed IBM PC
Apple also came out ard same period, usually called Apple Computer
other brands subsequently came out by modifying IBM designs, they
were known as IBM clones then..

so how apple as Apple Computer, mabbe AC for short? hahah
and PC for the rest of the IBM PCs / clones / compatibles....

Isnt MAC = Abbreviation for Macintosh? Thats what i've always thought anyway.

Hi

Never ask a man what computer he uses. If it's a MAC, he'll tell you. If not, why embarass him? :bsmilie: :devil:
