M8 2.0 Firmware: Anyone?

Yes, I have just upgraded mine as well.
Just tested with my 35mmLux and ZM 50mmf1.5 but have not uploaded to computer yet.

At least I can start using my SDHC cards on M8 from now on ;)

Cheers!

Upgraded and my M8 cannot work anymore....:o

Just kidding! Looks good. Fast and easy. The ISO performance seemed to have improved too! We'll see tomorrow when I have more time...

Not reversible, so there is some hesitation on my part. Perhaps time to use SanDisk's Ducati SDHC cards?

Don't upgrade first. BUY a M8.2 & when happy then upgrade M8;)

Afraid not. Not enticing enough.

No prob on my side. Like the Auto ISO feature where you can set the limits for ISO and shutter speed. Bought a Sandisk Extreme III 16GB SDHC card with reading/writing speed of 30MB/s. really really much faster than before. format the card, takes only around 2 seconds flat.

Just upgraded to firmware 2.00, everything seems to be fine. No problem with using SDHC but "feel" that the writing speed is a little longer now while shooting with DNG.

Note: Using a normal Kingston 4GB SDHC card (class 4)

Class 6 cards are faster but the specs just state that the minimum speed is 6MB/s.

The SDHC specification 2.00 calls for cards to be classified according to the minimal sustained DTS (Data Transfer Speed) as follows:

  • Class 2: minimum sustained DTS of 2MB/sec
  • Class 4: minimum sustained DTS of 4MB/sec
  • Class 6: minimum sustained DTS of 6MB/sec
Sandisk has an a card that does 30 MB/s: http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Cat...30MBs_Edition_SDHC_High_Performance_Card.aspx

Why not try it or some equivalent?

That's the 16GB SDHC Extreme card i got. It works very well with the M8. No need to bring so many SD cards. :D Try getting it at Funan's Infocomm, not many shops has it.

Alan Photo, Cathay Photo will sell. BTW, how $$?

Upgrade and did a full day shooting yesterday in daylight and at night.. everything looks good..
Also loaded in the Scandisk 16GB SDHC Extreme 3..no problems here too..in fact (maybe physiological) but I think it has speed increase in read write..

Shot with both Coded and no coded lenses..no problem here to..

So at least for me it a good upgrade.. ;p;)

First I want to wait till Tuesday to see what else Leica have to announce.

If it's only the expected Medium Format announcement, I will probably save up to upgrade to an M8.2 and put my M8 on e-bay.

Yes I did. Seems fine though I have yet to do and buy cards of over 2GB capacit :-)

can anyone tell me is the jpgs coming out of the M8 is any good? when the m8 first came out the jpgs produced in camera was terrible and that has stopped me from buying the cam. has the latest firmware updates corrected the jaggies, etc?
