M1 get iPhone deal!

I quote from a source:
After SingTel's latest move, M1 responded yesterday by lowering its cap to $30, and raising its amount of free data to 12GB too.
It said that it introduced the new cap so that 'customers can have peace of mind when they are surfing and won't suffer from billing shocks'.

I think it would be a giga-shock to me if I ever hit 12GB.

iPhone battery performance and cellular internet speed are incapable of making its user hitting 12GB.

it is not the phone that is good, it is just a phone
it is the apps and what you can do with it that makes it great

Hmm...
Looking at it, maybe it is a good thing that I collected it last night.
Thankfully my planning worked out.
Take queue no., went back home to do all my stuff, check back 4 to 6 hours later.

Without the Apple logo, will the phone sell as hot? :dunno:

Let's answer this hypothetical question with a hypothetical answer.

Say I take a Micro$oft Zune, and slap an Apple logo on top. Will it sell like hot cakes? Fail since day one!! :bsmilie:

I just called M1, they can't do delivery and expected waiting time is 3 - 4hrs as expected. No more queue no. after 2030. What they can do is extend their closing time and for those who reserve iphones, the period of collection has been extended to month end. Hope this action will help to ease the crowd. Hmm... I wonder.....

I went to Plaza Singapore yesterday to meet my friends. Both M1 and Starhub were there. Walked by the M1 shop and they were showing the iphone. Asked if I could get one and they said sure. Gave me a queue number and I went off to meet my friends. Got back late after 2.5 hours and missed my number. Told them and they fixed it. The next number that jumped up was me. Had a choice of all the available colors and capacity. In the end, settled for a black 32 GB. Pretty quick and fuss free experience.

Cheers,

Even if the period of collection is extended, it is still 'while stock last'. That's what they told some people who have reserved an iPhone and had turned up yesterday but didn't want to wait around to collect it. Example, if you had reserved a white 32G 3Gs but that particular model is sold out by the time you go to collect it, you would have to take whatever models that's still left.

Another thing is whether the 20% discount off the Applecare Protection Plan for the iPhone is also extended. It is supposed to be available only between 9-11 Dec originally.

The queue is still there at Compasspoint, but not as bad as yesterday.
Maybe they know that 3Gs 32GB is out of stock? :dunno:

I was with my colleague at Bugis Junction yesterday. She was queuing up for the iPhone at M1 while I was getting mine at Hello! shop just opposite. I got mine within an hour while she got hers within 2.5 hours.

Looking at the queue at m1, I thought it's a reasonable timing for her. I think it's better to queue at a suitable timing rather than reserving the gadget.

of all i think starhub is the worst. they can't even get their web server running.

to me, its the ease of use and the full integration with OS X. :)

sigh. looks like its demand > stocks thing again. faced the exact same thing with SingTel when they released the 3GS iphones too. EXACT same things i tell you. Pre ordered, released stocks to walk in, no OOS sign despite long queues, cannot hold/reserve, NO information of next shipments etc. It's really a you want, you wait game. tsk. Local scenes' services really need some serious re-looking.

i dunno why my previous msg was cut off halfway after posting.
so i'll post again for benefit of all.

ok.

i went M1 this morning.

they ran out of 32GB iphones DESPITE the preorder.
they said it's because they also open it to public.hence, whether you preorder or not, makes no god damn difference.
so what's the god damn point of preordering onLINE?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?

the new 32gb stock will arrive next week.
however, they have NO INDICATION, NO SIGNAGE or anything that tells people that it's out of stock.
so many people queue, and in the end, only to realise it's out of stock.

also, i had reserve 2 special number each costing $500+.
when i was at counter, they said the number has already been released!which means they will only hold on to it for 3 days,
IIRC, it doesnt state in the website, and i have no calls or emails or anything to say the number has been released to public for reservation already.
WTF?
it's not like i didnt go down during these 3 days to sign up the iphone.the problem is they DO NOT have the stock at all so how in the world of the monkeys' asses am i going to sign up for the special numbers?
and what's worse, they CANNOT hold it for me till my iphone arrives next week.
i was utterly pissed off.
if i am not in my office wear, i would have used all the hokkien, teochew and cantonese on them.
utterly wasted my morning.
so i told them F it, went to singtel.

the experience at SINGTEL was beautiful.
all in all, done deal in 30 mins + QUEUING.
what's more, they have special numbers and i'm telling you, it's something i though i had to fork out a few hundreds or k to buy, but they told me NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
and their customer service officer (shanidah) was EXCELLENT.
really.i'm going to write a commendation feedback for her.
she was polite, fast, efficient and all you ever want from a sales consultant.
damn if i have my own company, you can be god damn sure i'll poach her.
i end up buying 3 iphones 32GB.
and yes, they have signage at q line to show they have stock or not.

so when my m1 contract ends, no need to guess whom i'll be signing with.
m1, your organisation needs major restructuring.

U should try Starhub, worse then M1. I'm Starhub user and was damn piss with the customer service counter n hotline services. I think i spend a few hours on the phone just trying to get through and check my contract status n see if there's any benefit to recontract with them after. Guess they don't need another customer liao. Time for me to jump ship...

As Singtel knows how bad the other 2 services can be, they hold their horses on per sec billing thingy, which can be a killer on phone bills. If u call someone and the person is not around, u'll hang up in less then 5 sec. Don't think u'll chat with whoever is on the phone that u don't know for nothing just to utilize the time paid. 1 5 sec call, u pay for 1 min that's equals to S$0.16/min.

Let's say u happen to encounter this 30 times a month, S$0.16 X 30 = S$4.80. What happen if it's 100 times a month? That's S$16. Unless u so sure that everytime u call someone, he or she is in...

Other then that, Singtel is fine... I'll go for Singtel I'm high end user or they change to per sec billing... otherwise, it's not beneficial for me...

I queue for about 2.5hrs at M1 and it took them almost 4 days to activate my data bundle (due to change of plan) so can't surf for the 4 days, severely handicapped. Sigh..... M1 definitely need some improvement.....
