M-Mount lenses on Lumix G1

hee hee... there is a reason why the Novoflex cost that much...

Yup the screw mount one is still in stock.

Ok. reserve one for me. I will contact you tomorrow. :-) My Novoflex adaptor was very tight when my M lenses mounted onto it. I have difficulty unmounting the lenses initially. The price doesn't justify it's overly tight mounting. I almost couldn't unmount the lenses, really scary....one need some Hercules strength to do so..:)

That was what one of my customer said when he bought the german adapter. Apparently it wasn't so tight when mounted with Leica lenses... :bsmilie:

Maybe Germans talk to each other... other countries might need a little strength to "open up"... :bsmilie:

a zeiss 50mm (contax rf) on a "contax rf to M" adapter has exactly the same prob.
hercules strength needed.

same for nikkor 50mm (nikkor rf) on a "nikkor rf to M" adapter

my biggest disappointment is my NikkorRF to M adaptor can't latch onto the M-G1 adaptor. Seems the Nikkor backend is too thick.

I think you've got it wrong. My M lenses are Germans (except one Jap), maybe they love their German counterpart (Novoflex) till they can't bear to leave each other, thus holding "tightly" to each other, ie, got stuck with each other! ;p

Out of curiosity, I mount a movie lens Carl Zeiss Distagon 8mmF2 via an adaptor on the G1 and took a shot to see how it is like. Here is the pix:

G1_8mm.jpg

Obviously, the image circle is not enough to cover the whole sensor :D

I did a crop, and got this:

G1_8mmP.jpg

Can any expert tell us what is the effective angle-of-view of the cropped image? (I know it is wider than what a 28mm lens would produce on Leica M8.)

Interesting!

Why not u use the kit lens and take a number of shots and then compare to see which is the closest match? :)

Let us know! I am keen to know. :)

Good idea. will bring the kit lens along when I go there next time.

All that I know now is that this lens is W..I...D...E & fun :D

WOW! SUPER SHARP! AND AMAZING DEPTH!

The 35/f1.7 is an amazing lens. One of the best in the 35mm focal length.... In fact all the Voigtlander 35mm are amazing lenses. :)

:bsmilie: That's why I can't wait and decide to get G1 immediately :bsmilie: Using film camera sometimes is a bit frustrated because only able to view the results after finish shooting the whole roll of film :( no regret no regret :)

these are such evil shots for those trying to resist buying...

It's just a 2min walk away from where u are now... :bsmilie:

At sub 1K price tag... I'm sure it won't hurt much. :bsmilie:

The wind of G1 is spreading fast & wide....

u people are bad...

chiif - so far it seems the best focal length for it is to stick a M-mount 35mm on it?

Wow... looks like the m4/3 G1 has really breathed digital life into the classic rangefinder lenses without resorting to the ultra-expensive Leica M8 digital rangefinders!

Would seriously like to see what Olympus releases or if either Canon or Nikon come up with their own versions!
