M-Mount lenses on Lumix G1

Resistance is futile...

It's a cheap camera body... compared to your lenses... afterall, all your canon lenses will gain a new lease of life with the G1! No more complain of front focus, back focus, no focus, bad focus...

Trust me... u will love this camera. And the best thing is... IT'S MADE IN JAPAN!

I don't think the oly is going to be made in the land of the rising sun....

But I already have a few Epson R-D1/R-D1s... What does this do for me other than mindless gear lust?

Actually, I almost bought a Leica M8.2 yesterday. Lack of immediate stock resulted in a distraction and ended up with something else totally different. You may see less of me in here soon. :bsmilie:

Cheers,

Can post the original colour one? :)

Here goes:

As shot. No UV/IR cut filter used with your Nokton lens. Don't really like the colour produced by the spot light on her face, hence the B&W conversion.

Yup... not optimal lighting condition there... that's why I turn up the red slightly... ;p

I went for a cousin's wedding and brought my G1 & 35mm Nokton 1.2 along. Decided to shoot some pics - rangefinder style. It was very fun. Have a look.

All shots were taken between ISO 400-1000, wide open at f1.2 between 1/40 - 1/125. Little post-processing except mild noise reduction in Lightroom (which doesn't accomplish much). Preset conversion to B&W in LR. For the colour pics, colour temperature directly from G1. The lighting conditions were very challenging.

Hmm... with the G1, everyone starts shooting short-tele liao ;p

BTW, how to shoot "RF-style" with G1 ?!

i guess similar to a 50mm on M8. RF-style meaning wide open, no flash, no zoom ( despite G1's capibility in that area )

28mm on an M8 gives 35, not so bad rite?

SLR can also do "wide open, no flash, no zoom" bah?

ok, RF- sounds better i guess...

Thank Gommy for answering all the questions! Hacker recommended this to me. And I must say, this is one heck of a lens. So pleasing....

Yah, and thanks to you, I have been spending the last 1hr office-time googling up on this Sonnar. ;p

POISON! You have been infected... Muhahahahha
