Hi guys, I've decided to buy the LX3 and went down just now to MS Color at AMK Block 711, I was quoted $699 by a sales girl saying the package is LX3 + case + 4 or 8GB card.

Can I ask how did you get your package and who did you get it from? Your package sounds like a real deal. Very enticing. =)

you mean they let you choose ? who would want a 4GB instead of a 8GB ?

Who did you get it from? When I was there, all sales people were busy with their respective customers so I just asked price and the package it comes with. I was a bit intimidated cos they looked unfriendly to me, hopefully is my imagination.

Don't get it from ALP.... Basket! bought mine and didn't know that I was supposed to get the free camera case that comes with the LX3... Went back to ask them after I found out from another shop who told me it is a standard accessory, guess what ALP tell me?

"oh depends on Panasonic if they have stock or not..... " yeah right.....

got mine at MS Color (Blk 711) last Fri - LX3 + Case + 4gb SD at $680.
they charged me additional $30 for OEM spare batt and $15 for screen protector.

wasn't happy at all cos the guy totally ripped me off on the accessories.
initially tried to sell me the tokina circular polarizer filter at $60 and then, sold me at $40. realised i got ripped off only when i went back the next day to get more accessories at MS Color (AMK Hub) and realised that the filter was only $35. same goes for the lens adapter, etc - so ripped off $5 and $10 here and there for every accessory.

the guy at AMK Hub (young guy with specs) is definitely more trusted!

so my advice to you is if you're planning to get accessories with the camera, research on the price of the accessories before you buy! do not assume that they are giving you discounts on the accessories as a package deal with the camera since you may just end up paying more!

but lx3 is one cool camera - that i gotto admit!

From what I see, most of you got the camera with a "case". Some mentioned "original", some mentioned "leather". I am a little confused. Plan to get the LX3 within a few days, just want to ensure I don't get shortchange from the shops giving me "any" case and claim to be original.

Possible to post a picture of the case? Thanks.

Go get it from John 3:16 at Funan. They confirm got case. Cos they are the ones who told me about it. I went there to buy a case and they asked me... "huh?? Lx3?? Comes with case mah?? Let me show u" That was then I knew I been had by ALP!!

In the worst scenario, they tell you it has no "case". In the not so bad scenario, they give you a "tom/dick/harry case" and claim it to be the LX3 original case. Therefore I hope someone can post a picture of the case just to be sure.
