1) what's the latest firmware for LX3? Mine's 1.00
2) Where can I get a hotshoe cover?

A new firmware will be out on 15th Dec. This will support the new flash unit from Panasonic. Also fix some white balance issue. Do hope it will fix some other issues as well not just the above 2items.

Looks like it can't bounce like the new one panasonic had announce ... Hope there will come out something like a SB400 for the LX3 to use .

Hi guys I need some help
Im a newbie n I just got the LX3 on sun & I tried to recording using video & realise that after a few seconds the audio playback stops but the video playback continues
I tried resetting the whole camera & I still face the same problem..however I do notice a trend tat the vol will stop half way during the video..for eg the video is 30 secs the audio will stop at 15 secs (give or take)...if the video is 1 min the audio stops bout 30 secs..it happens for both the HD & normal video mode I didnt touch the camera at all during records
Any1 has any idea how to fix it? Thanks!

Hi, I've tested mine on video recording and have not encounter this problem. Where did you bought your set? You may want to go back and ask for a one-to-one replacement if it's within 7 days?
Oh man so suay arh..I bot it from the shop at HV & I bought their last piece...new stock arriving only 15 of dec...

See if you can test it out again... maybe it's an isolated instance? Went through the pdf manual but didn't says anything on half-way audio loss.
Er well, something s*** does happens... Think best is to go back for a replacement to save yourself future trouble.

1) Most of the pic i shoot is at 10 M so the size is big and when i have to upload it into forums i have to go reduce the size. Is there any reason y ppl would shoot at the max resolution or lesser ?
2) In reducing the size, does it affect the pic quality regardless of which software u use?
3) What strap do u use for your LX-3 ? I went to Orient and they only have a brown Lecia strap which cost $50 ... kinda ex for me

Hi Six-GHZ thanks a lot for your help...I realise the problem only happens when I try n play the video on my pc...when i play it on my camera it is able to play the sound all the way...kindda wierd but will troubleshoot till I find out y..

probably due to the pc unable to process the data fast enough..

I am using win media player..its a mov file..which player do u use? My pc is relatively updated though

Juz bought a LX3 but can't seem to pwr it up after charging both batts (original & freebie). Hoping there's something I'm doing wrong and not the cam itself. Any idea guys?!

Hmmm... weird and weirder. Usually the batteries that come with the camera have some juice left. Do put it on full charge before slotting them in correctly.
Besides, you didn't test out when you buy meh?

U put in the batteries the rite way right? Cause I was able to power on mine even though I charged it for a short while. How bout bringing back to the shop for a exchange?

sounds like a codec issue to me..
i am using vlc player.. and my laptop is 1.5years old, desktop is 4yrs old. both no issues.. :think:

Any user encounters this:
When I zoom, it takes a while for the lens to move... not very long, but not simultaneously.
It takes time to write to SD card after I take a photo. I use the standard SD cards come along with the camera.
Focus not very fast.
Any idea of these above problems?
